yea, honestly i can't wait for it.
got MBP 2011 13" because I'm saving up for 15" next year.
hoping that they would redesign the body, the current one has been in market since 2007
*
current design since 2008 actually. before that the MBP design is same with powerbook...since 2003 haha 7 years same design

EDIT: correction its 2003 not 2001 tongue.gif

I'm thinking to get a Mac book pro but judginging by this link here, a new version might come out any time soon, maybe 2 months or maybe half a year. My question is, usually is there a big difference when they release new one?
*
hard to say, normally not that big but the previous update was a huge one.

but here's what i think. the new MBP will come out whenever intel is ready with the new ivy bridge chips. so supposedly it'll have a much better integrated graphics compared to the intel hd3000. so if u're thinking of getting a 13" MBP, but u wish to have better graphics, maybe u should wait. i doubt apple's going for AMD's fusion

if u want the 15", just get it now, better integrated graphics doesnt benefit it since already got a dedicated GPU.

also they will stick with the current design

juz my 2cents ah

hahahaha it should be ajaib. what la ilmu alam LOL

dtna7 i agree with others, if full payment is required it just sounds too fishy. if deposit okay la, but even that i wont go for more than rm100.

if the seller cant find a way to get stock w/o paying using their own money first, then they will lose customers. no one is going to trust a total stranger with 4k just like that, they should know

so for ur safety, if the seller still dont want to sell w/o full payment, just let it go and be patient.

lol....i guess u guys didnt read my post correctly.... u pay on the spot and xchange for the good thus the meaning COD; but you can also bank in etc if you dont feel safe to bring cash...
*
by bank in u mean something like do online transfer to the seller at the COD location correct?

cuz if u bank in as in cash deposit, and then go meet the seller, that would be very dangerous

i read at mac rumors that new MBP is commin up and not recommended to grab one. i'm in serious dilemma now. were wondering if there gonna be discount on current model
*
even if a new model is launched tomorrow, historically the price for the current models never go down as much as i would deem them 'worth it' compared to the newer models

considering intel's new ivy bridge processors wont be out until april 2012, i dont think a new MBP released before that would be much of an improvement. i'd say just go buy one

QUOTE(kamudrikah @ Sep 14 2011, 01:50 AM)
hello world, i'm really2 new in this mac world. and im slowly leaning toward mac right now. gotto ask you guys some advvise. here's my situation.

i'm am now a programming student. i did a little bit of gaming, lots of designing (photoshop, illustrator, after effect). i have a side business which is offering PC service and repairs for student like me. but never used a mac before. just today, my friend want to sell his newly purchased(2 months old) mbp 13" 2.3 i5 with box set to me at around rm3300 with mbp jacket, magic mouse, apple remote. thst soung pretty greate to me. but, i'm now using a Dell Studio XPS 1647 2.53 i5 first gen, 6gb ddr3, 500gb, ati hd 5730 which sounds like mbp 13" is not enogh for me. what do you guys think? im asking you because i didnt know the software aspect of the Mac since in mac world, low spec isn't always slow. they can get really fast too.

thanks in advance.
*
well the mbp's processor is much better than ur dell's so there's that, it'll help a lot on ur designing and programming work. ram can be upgraded to 8gb for quite cheap nowadays. but obviously the mbp loses out for gaming, and of course, screen size tongue.gif

price-wise i think it's great. rm700 discount not including the jacket, for a 2 months old machine. u also get to expand your business to servicing macs as well smile.gif

so i was about to purchase a macbook pro 15" low spec tonight until i read that they might be refreshed with intel's new sandy bridge processors later this month or year. I dont know much about the new processors, so my question would be is it worth waiting for the new line?

my seller also informed me that pros are usually refreshed twice a year. was this the case for the previous macbook pros as well?
*
not really twice a year lah. on average, about every 8 months. the current ones were out since february so it's definitely possible for a new model later this year.

i dont expect the newer SB to bring much improvement over the current SB though. also nothing new from nvidia and AMD. if me i'd just get one now n enjoy it. if u wanna wait, might as well wait for ivy bridge (probably april 2012)

ever considered the low end 13" + 256gb SSD?

Thanks! I was kind of surpeise when I see the new mba has lower GHz then 2010 mba lol, didnt know about difference in processor.
*
when comparing Ghz, it only makes sense if you're comparing between the same line. e.g. u dont compare core2duo vs i5, i3 vs i5... even old i5 vs new i5 also cannot compare by Ghz

Any sifu, please help me.. i'm a second user for MBP 2010, warranty still available but if i buy ACPP, it's require any any identity (like receipt buying it for claiming it next time?) ??
I scare if i buy ACPP for my MBP, next time my MBP got prob i cant claim... PLEASE HELP.... sad.gif
*
nope no need any sort of identity or receipt. as long as the mac is still covered by the original warranty, u can extend it with ACPP. doesnt matter if u're the 2nd or 3rd or 1000th user

be sure to check if the mac's is still under warranty or not. enter ur serial number here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
