Unable to recall exactly. About RM550, I think. I bought it just before Crumpler moved from KLCC to Pavvy, they had a 10-15% sale then.

Buy a bigger one cos you're not only carrying your MBP, right? Got other stuff to lug around too.

Recently, my MBP 15" Mid 2010 started having random clicking sound under the keyboard whenever I apply a bit of force on it downwards while typing. I assume its the fan producing this clicking sound. It's not consistent, happens only when I press on the MBP (palm area pressing while typing). Is there something wrong with the fan?

Maybe it's touching something. Best send it to Apple and show them the problem.

yea definitely will get bigger one to put in mouse + keyboard n stuff.
regret abit for buying 17" instead of 15", alot nice brands only offer up to 15" for their laptop bags. sad.gif

Added on March 8, 2011, 12:12 amhi bros,

just received my custom order 17" 2.3Ghz mbp today.
only took 7 days including weekends for it to arrive.

but the thing is, when i opened the DHL cardboard box, the white mbp box is not in perfect condition.
the middle part of the box is bulging out like the box is too small for it and the box itself is like already been misfolded.
when i took the unit out, there's little black dusty dots on the mbp even with the protective film on it.
and the aluminum side of the trackpad is abit uneven, like it's not properly produced and also a stain on the side of the keyboard
which i had to remove with cellotape.

may i know if this is normal as its been shipped from china or may be a display unit like what my fren has said?
sorry bout these questions as this is my 1st time owning a macbook pro, but just that i dont wish to get a not-so-good
unit after spending so much money on it! sad.gif

if i take pictures and complain to Apple, will they take action?

mine turned green light with less than 2 hour chargiing, is this considered normal?

Dunno what they'll do but I think you should complain in any case.

All depends on how much charge the battery had when you started charging it. You should use for a few days and then do a battery calibration.

Out of curiosity, how many charge cycles does your batt have? You can glean this info from System Profiler.

BTW, did you know that you can see the serial number of the AC adaptor from System Profiler. I wonder what other notebooks can do that.

umm i dono yet cos i havent start up the unit yet cos my fren asked me to charge the unit for 24 hours for the 1st charge.
is the 1-day charge before use necessary?

bro you're saying to match the serial number of the AC adapter and the notebook to see if its the same unit?

No need to do the legacy 24-hour charge thing. Just turn it on and use it. As long as the light is green, it means it's already stopped charging. Won't make a difference if you leave on overnight.

Just complain. I just had my own experience with Apple Customer Service. I can say they sure take care of their customers. But my case not as big as yours, I think they should give it more attention if not more attention.

hey guys... i just bought a MBA 11" 1.4/2gb ram.
I need to run win7 on this baby. What would be the best performance ? Running Parallels Desktop 6 or Bootcamp ?

Previously i was using a mbp 15"/4gb ram and found no issue running PD6. With this lesser powered MBA, i'm just wondering what would the best config be. tyvm.

boot camp for sure. even on my 2.4 Ghz C2D, running win7 in parallels with only 2gb is a bit laggy. needed to upgrade to 4gb

@Yan: I'll definitely recommend using Boot Camp. Most (if not all of us, regarding of spec) will use Boot Camp to run intensive programs in Windows as it boots natively.
Parallels shares the resources with Mac OS X which can run programs normally but not gaming!

they should take up about the same space. for virtual u need to install windows and the VM app itself. bootcamp need to install windows + drivers.

may i ask why do u need win7?
