Have you tried the Seagate GoFlex 2.5" with FW800 adaptor? How does it compare in performance to say the WD Passport Studio 2.5"? The shop that I buy from said the GoFlex is not as fast as the Studio.

I'm having thoughts of geting the new macbook air but not sure if its worth the value. I'm a light user, only use it for surfing and doing assignments most of the time. Wondering if the smallest specs of 64GB / 2GB memory would be sufficient for me. Any advice?

that's double the price of a standard usb 2.0 hdd.. man.. i wish there are cheaper alternatives for firewire hdd

Need a bit of help. Thinking of going to get a SSD for my MBP. I want to do a fresh install(not going by the carbon copy path). My Question is:
I want to keep my iTunes library that's on my current HDD, how to I transfer them to my new SSD after I have done the Lion installation. My library is about 160gb What"file" do I need to extract from my current HDD?

im using firewire for my TM cuz last time, TM on leopard was freaking slowwww

since snow leopard the 'figuring out what to sync' phase is much faster, so i think a USB ext hdd shud be fine. much cheaper also

Oh, just a heads up to those didn't know, I would like to share a few tips.

1- For those who had their 2nd USB port (which is closer to the power input) not working or not enough juice to power up a simple device AND for those who just upgraded to Lion and found out their battery life not as great as snow leopard, there is a simple method to fix it and it is called SMC Reset. Have a read here.

i dont think so. no new tech also. my guess is the next model will be coming out as soon as intel is ready with the ivy bridge CPUs. shud be early next year
if external it doesnt really matter. 5400rpm is fine, cheaper also

getting the 240gb one. but i might go along the optibay path and get a smaller SSD.

that is a very good idea but worried that the heat issue will get worse with SSD and another HDD...

can i ask, anyone using the new MBA - is 2G RAM enough to handle Lion?

current design since 2008 actually. before that the MBP design is same with powerbook...since 2003 haha 7 years same design

they had the aluminium macbook pro and the white macbook iirc for "late 08" iirc. but the first gen unibody mbp 15" being late 08' is a sure info since i've one of those
