Nice shot bro, looks yummy. how is the lighting of this pics?

Btw guys, im going to travel to some winter country. what is the precaution i should take as this is the first time i travel with my dslr, and also to winter country. And what is the best aperture to use for landscape shot? because i find my pictures not that sharp at F8 or F10 (HDR bracketing thou). am using Tamron 17-50mm VC.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Ive been to nami island during winter. Dat time snowy and the temperature at least -4 degree(celcius) plus the wind make it colder.. IMO, u need to bring extra batteries. During my visit there, my sony cybershot can only last 20-30 pics and the photographer who accompany us (he use dslr, cant remember what model) also change batteries of his dslr a few time.

I wonder how low temperature affect the mechanism inside the battery.

Hi, i'm newbie in DSLR camera and plan to buy Nikon D3100. I need some advice before i buy it. My main use on this camera is landscape and portrait picture, hence I plan to buy 2 more lens which are

1. Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
2. Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens

Do you think these lens are reasonable choices? Is external flash a necessary to have?
*
imo, if u want wide stick to your kit lens.
if u want long, get the 70-300mm VR instead, price will come up to around the same as both those lenses combined.

During snowing time I took my dslr out to play for one whole day. Shoot2 non stop tat day oso. At the end of the day my battery still got around 1/4. No BG yah. N I don't use liveview at all, preview images sometime oni. Works well for me. In my case, I don't need any extra battery, cuz night time sampai hotel can change the battery aledi biggrin.gif

hmm.gif that actually make some sense. As for higher bodies than the entry levels, we have the upper screen to alter things. So i dont really know how the entry level battery will serve ya. maybe someone can confirm this one?

morning nikonians,i want to ask about d300s

1)is it worth to buy it for my 2nd body?
2)what type port at the front of d300s body beside lens?(the covered with rubber)

FYI,i'm owner of d90

the way i see if i buy d7000, it would be more expensive than d300s

need y'all opinions.

people usually has different sensor format for two types of body.
1 FX and another one DX so they can get wider coverage for range as DX (range * 1.5)
for me D7k is better than D300s.
but as I love the built-in quality of D300s. I'll just wait for D400.
Hopefully it's not too expensive for my reach. tongue.gif

Bad thgs is uk and us is out of stock(Lee Filters Digital Starter Kit ). I did find out Singapore Cathay got stock. but singapore got 7% gst, then not worth. So i try look in Malaysia, see got luck or not.
If you fly into Singapore, you can claim back the GST. Else, if you ask them to send the item out by post to you, tell them that GST should not be applicable.

Else, you can try and source Ebay.
