QUOTE(Neptern @ Mar 12 2011, 12:29 AM) For unifi bill, without any promotion, the first bill will be your pro-rated first month internet usage+next month advance payment for internet usage+RM40 of installation fee(200 in total, rm40 per month for first five month). If 1 month free, I'm not pretty sure but i think it's one month free for the first month while you're paying RM149 for the next month, in advance which means you pay before you use. So... If you got ur unifi installed close to end of the month, you rugi a bit. If yours is installed earlier, you earn because it's prorated (from the date you install to end of the month). *THIS IS JUST MY THOUGHT, SOMEONE PLEASE CLARIFY* |

QUOTE(jAkUn @ Mar 12 2011, 01:59 AM) First part was correct. Thank you for clarifying. I'm actually paying everything, no promotion so i don't really know about that. That's why i said "My thought". hahaFirst month was pro-rata. Let's say 1st month bill was RM49. Your subscribed package was RM149. So RM100 will be totally wasted right? Incorrect. Actually, the 2nd months which RM149 monthly package, u will get a discount of RM100. So the total bill after discounts/promotions would be RM49, which sums up of 2 months bill. |

Maybe you should try downloading Vista SP2 from Microsoft. No validation required. Just try it and cancel it half way. I can get full speed from the server

QUOTE(Jalopy @ Mar 19 2011, 06:58 PM) NO! Don't subscribe now until 24th next month. That's what I was told by UniFi as they are migrating their server and problem can only be resolved by then. Wonder what that means. Have been complaining numerous times to UNiFi about the slow connection since 3 weeks ago and that was even before the earthquake in Japan. Now with the earthquake undersea cable damage, l don't know what to say liao. You should subscribe now for the free installation thing... Since normally the appointment will be more than a month. Subscribing now is jsut right if your date is rightBy the way I'm on VIP10 and most areas in SJ and USJ are affected. ![]() |

QUOTE(naz9802 @ Mar 20 2011, 01:48 PM) I think what Jalopy mentioned maybe related to below exercise done by TM. Seems they are upgrading their HSBB network to a new platform but currently they do it per area. Other area not mentioned below maybe they will do it this year...Hopefully... Awesome my place on 17 yet i din realise that... hahahahaDear Valued Customers, Telekom Malaysia Berhad wishes to inform our UniFi customers that we will be upgrading our High Speed Broadband (HSBB) network to a new platform to facilitate ongoing improvements of our network performance and service quality. Please see below for the upgrading schedule: Damansara and Duta 25 February 2011 Sungai Long, Cheras 3 March 2011 Selayang Baru and Keramat 10 March 2011 Batu, Setapak 17 March 2011 Sungai Buloh and Wangsa Maju 24 March 2011 Bukit Bintang and Taman Midah in Cheras 31 March 2011 During this upgrading exercise, TM UniFi customers may experience minor service interruption with our UniFi triple play services namely High Speed Internet, Video and Voice over Internet Protocol. We would like to assure our customers that the services would resume to normal after the migration period. TM apologizes for any inconvenience that may occur from the disruption and would like to assure you that the upgrading exercise is necessary to enable us to provide you with the best quality of service. We would like to thank you for your understanding and patience during the affected period. |

QUOTE(hackwire @ Mar 21 2011, 10:24 AM) I'm not sure whether this is the solution192.168.0.1->ID: operator, Pass: h566UniFi->Internet Setup->Manual Internet Setup->Under PPPoE box->Connect mode select->Always instead of connect on demand. Added on March 21, 2011, 10:57 amAny "Dir-615" expert here? I wanna ask how to setup QoS or to divide the bandwidth equally for a number of users connected? My friend is always downloading with xunlei. I asked him to limit the speed to around 300kB because i dare not to ask him to lower it further down. Surfing is not to say lag but when watching youtube vid then it'd lag for sure... I want to do something in the router side to cap his download speed and for all of us too. Means when 5 users connected, I want a equal bandwidth among 5 of us which is 1Mbps per user, on VIP5. Is that possible? This post has been edited by IwanAGP: Mar 21 2011, 10:57 AM |

QUOTE(hackwire @ Mar 21 2011, 11:18 AM) Hi Iwan, That 5mins u can only change if you set the mode to "connect on demand". And... Like that orenzai said, the id/pass i used is more advanced menu for the router. What u can with the admin account can be done by the operator account but not vice versa. HahaI follow the handbook instruction and manage to go into the Dlink Configuration 192.168.01 . I follow your instruction as stated above and my login id is admin , pasword: blank. (found in unifi handbook) May i know how come your default login id and password different. Is it the same? My setting in Connect Mode Select is already " Always" . I noticed the Max Idle Time is : 5 min. ( grey out) (can't change this). Every time i have to reboot my modem because it keep login out every time . Did you guys face this same problem. I will test it out this afternoon again. i will leave it switch on. Will see if it happen again. Log Time: 11:17am |

QUOTE(CrayonsEater @ Mar 21 2011, 09:19 PM) Hi lyn bros. 15th to 30th means the time u actually subscribed, not depending on the date of installment. On ur first question, I got no idea. You can only call up tm or go to tm point to check out. It won't be automatically terminated. Just wondering whether tm will charge u for that or not since it's not normal package in which it comes with a free netbook. hahaI'm subscribing to unicoolpack currently and i applied unifi thru <www.unifi.my> this afternoon. do i have to go to tm shop to cancel off my unicoolpack or they will cancel the unicoolpack on my behalf automatically? besides, if my appoinment with technician falls on april, will the installation fee waiver apply to me as well? As it's stated on the site 15th Jan to 30th of March, but i dont really understand how it works. Thanks. |

QUOTE(VerM @ Mar 22 2011, 02:54 PM) Nope... the speed is up to 5mbps for upload and up to 5mbps for download +1, check mine, on VIP5.You can check various unifi signatures here that posted their speedtest results i.e: dimenxion (probably on unifi vip10) QUOTE(VerM @ Mar 22 2011, 02:59 PM) if concurrent downloads yes it should divide by the number of download sessions/threads/files Me too. Unifi athena hub i can download and upload @ 500kB/s +- simultaneouslybut for both upload/download simultaneously, from my experience both can reach maximum speed...not sure about others though... QUOTE(doremon @ Mar 22 2011, 03:17 PM) Guys2, can someone enlighten me on this matter. Download speed and upload speed is totally different right? If someone upload the file that I download and the speed im getting is 5mb, is it we are sharing? Of course different. No matter how much u cut ur upload ur speed, it just won't go faster unless u're on BT which requires both way communication to make it fast. But normally BT won't take much of the upload too. My experience, at most 150~200kB/s upload. If I disable the upload section, would the download section be faster? My result... ![]() with 5 other users connected to the router. And myself downloading in athena hub. Acceptable la... haha |

QUOTE(Putrawk @ Mar 23 2011, 12:03 AM) Complaint Number - 1-860625173 Why don't u specify your problem and see any gurus here can help u if it can be solved on your side.I was a P1 user. Though still under contract, I changed to Unifi as I know the service is a lot faster. After registering, I had to wait almost 2 weeks for the technicians to come and install it at my place (i live in a duplex condo in damansara). Never mind that. I was happy with the speed and was able to download and my wife can play online games without any interuptions. The problem started a week after the installation. There was no connection at all. That was Saturday 14th of March. I tried calling the customer service but to no avail. Somehow I managed to talk to them re my problems. They say they will send a technician, but can only come on Friday, the20th. I told them to come earlier as I will be going to Ipoh on that day and no one will be around. They were reluctant, telling me they are shortage of technicians, but they will try and they they will call back if theres any openings. No calls from them, so I HAD TO CALL THEM TO CHECK. And get this, They insisted to come on friday and had the nerve to ask me to change my plans!! What??? YES! YOU READ IT RIGHT! I was pissed there and then. I told them to come on Thursday and they said they will try to get someone over. But nooo. I tried calling them on thursday night, but somehow they only entertain calls office hours. As I was on the way to Ipoh, a technician called and ask me what time can he come. Obviously there were no comunication between the call centre and technicians. I told them I am OTW to Ipoh. So this technician was kind enough to give me his HP no and told me to call him on monday. If he is not bz, he can come. Fine by me. But I called on monday, he told me he is tied and theres absolutely no way he can help me. So I called the call ctr again, and this time they set it on Sunday, which is impossible as my condo has strict guidelines on contractors. I told them weekend cannot, and again, they say they will try to get someone to come over the next 3 days. Up till now, after 12 days, I am still waiting for someone to come and repair. Dont expect me to pay in full, I expect a rebate of two weeks! But most importantly, I want it to be fixed ASAP! What irks me most is that the customer service cant give me a solution to my problems. By right, they should try their best in pleasing customers. I have encountered problems with P1 before. Tho their connection is very poor at my place, their Customer service is efficient. I called to complain, they rectified it the next day! Unifi? 2 bloody weeks! Mind my language, I am just pissed! |

Theory is 5120kb/s divide by 8 which is 640kB/s. Haha... See my signature for speedtest.anyways, for a VIP5, my download should be around what speed? Not speedtest.net but those overseas download like downloading from microsoft server in USA? |
