GOW3 really is graphics intensive. My PS3 can only survive the first controlled scene for a few seconds, then switches off. No GOW3 for me cry.gif except for a few slashes in the first scene of course

yeah true is hard to say is the firmware prob, anyway as like wat other ppl said it is juz a rumor, but based on ur fren case, they shuld juz giv a brand new ps3 instead of paying another SGD 350 for a brand new ps3, that is their console problem not our problem and SGD 350 is quite a big amount. It is around RM700-800, if they say RM100-200 still acceptable lar.

The fan kicks in high speed on gow3 only, other games no problem, my other games are mostly ssf4 and gt5 only.

I not sure regarding ur case, but mine working fine when playing ps3. I mean my old ps3 that kena YLOD.

For other games, it turns off after playing for quite some time but no specific pattern (sometimes after about 30 mins, sometimes after 1-2 hours). GOW3 is special case, always at the same spot. I reckon it's the GPU getting too hot.

my phat ps3 went dead with ylod..now I can see even slim version got YLOD??? alamak.....shoot man...just bought a new ps3 slim.....damnit....!!!! Folks how do you take care of your ps3 so that it'll not overload???

smtg weird wit ur ps3... if ur warranty period is over, i suggest u to ask someone else to clean up ur ps3 or reapply the thermal... btw ur is the phat machine or the slim?

easy.. dont let it overheat. Use air cond blew it... btw there is a lot video on youtube teach u how to lower down the chances of ylod.

and depends on places, based on Sony Singapore, they cover warranty by selling a brand new ps3 with RM700-800 around... Zzz

and I also can make sure that PS3 firmware can control the fan speed and of coz i cant confirm tat they lower down the fan speed to cause more ps3 ylod.

Finally my ps3 cheha 06 struck by ylod cry.gif R.I.P. 10.8.2008 - 17.8.2011.she died just rite after i upgrade her fw to 3.7

why dun we write down all the number series as well then Mayb we can figure it out which batch of manufactured ps3 Will get ylod? so far mine was good. slim spore 160gb brought a year ago but only start playing frequent recently. 2-4 hours per play. 3-4 times a week. vertical.

the new slim 160gb wouldnt get ylod that easily.

Mine is phat 80gb starting to show symptoms of YLOD already ie. auto shut down.

Been looking high and low for someone to save it before its too late

Just curious. Mine YLODed several times for the past 1-2 months. But I kept on trying to turn it on. Normally, it will turn on successfully after close to 10 times of turning on and auto-shutdown (immediately after it's on).

Today, no more red LED but the power is still there. Green light still lights up when I switch it on (after trying several times like starting an old car).

Looks like I wont get YLOD after this coz the RED LED is busted laugh.gif (the YLOD comes from the combination of RED + GREEN LED)

Dear sifus.my ps3 phat struck by ylod recently, and aldy bought a new 1 (slim).my question is, is there any way to transfer my old files to my new ps3 by taking out my old hdd?my old ps3 100% ylod,cant turn on at all,so i cant transfer my files via usb or lan.pls advice smile.gif
