yeah?well,tell that to sony....all they care is profit,but no quality.do we have any problems like this with the great ol' psONE?no i think....i have mine for 5 years,played it for 6-7 hours a day(was a kid back then,so play games until there's no tomorrow),and the only thing broke is the disc holder,which broke a little piece,but can still put in the cd,load it,and play it.no need of good ventilation or anything like that,just plug it into the tv and play.and the day that my ps1 died is bcos of the big floods in kedah in 2005,if not bcos of the floods,i bet it would still kick the ps3's ass lifespan

for those who got/know-a-person who got ylod problem, how many hours do you normally play during a session before giving it a break to cool down? just want to do a survey, maybe can help new owner like me

Dear sifus.my ps3 phat struck by ylod recently, and aldy bought a new 1 (slim).my question is, is there any way to transfer my old files to my new ps3 by taking out my old hdd?my old ps3 100% ylod,cant turn on at all,so i cant transfer my files via usb or lan.pls advice

I had to kill that PS3...in a day or two that is. It's not in an air conditioned room. I've switched on the ceiling fan on 2 out of 5 speed of fan. I'm not sure if that helps for cooling purpose. I switched off the LCD TV and the only thing running is my PS3 doing some downloading stuff.

I slept at 3am and I was awake at 6am, the PS3 fan is still silent. I woke up at about 7.58am and the machine is still running. The fan didn't kick up its speed, still silently doing the downloading quietly. I'm not sure how it turns out when I reach home later today. I'll report on the fan noise tomorrow.

Maybe I'll snap some pictures or maybe a video with my camera.

my ps3 was weird a bit..when just 30 seconds playing games..it turn off itself with yellow light..then start back can play like normal for hours..is this a symptom of YLOD..

Hi guys. If the ps3 yloded the hard drive can work on other ps3 or not? Or all the save data gone?

Mine is MY set, FFXIII vers some more but warranty expired already.

Should i take it to Sony Service Centre, or try to replace the psu by myself? Service center are far from my home (i live in langkawi).
