zdentws & I will leave Melaka around 11am.Doubt PosLaju can deliver my courier before that time.

So just don't criticize me if you see me poking SE w580 during the meeting. It's PosLaju's fault that I'll be smartphoneless during the meeting laugh.gif

Wesley got too exited when hearing my LYN name doh.gif
Anyway for those who have N900 do try to install MeeGo Community Build & bring your phone tomorrow.

If you have difficulties installing MeeGo you can refer to frontpage (steps are still the same) or PM me.

i successfully installed nitdroid into n900 ,
i tried to online with 3g, i'm able to, i try to use the browser, it say unable to load cause no internet connection, but at last it did. I tried to go market, can download apps, but when i go to whatsapp, it say that i dont have any internet connection :S
*
I didn't have any connection problem with NITDroid.
Try dig up the whatsapp Malaysian settings from Maemo Talk.

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Sep 14 2011, 02:17 PM)
Haha, no worries bro.

How come he's too excited? LoL, is he a member in this forum in N900 thread?

My N900 is my primary phone, can't afford to mess around with it. I'm using it a lot everyday,  LoL.
It's been more than 1 and 1/2 years, and the battery is still strong, kinda surprises me, I think it's easily surpasses 300 charge cycles; I use it heavily from day one, I charged few times per day, except maybe weekends.
*
Don't know.He went OMG after I gave him my email laugh.gif

Actually MeeGo installation doesn't do anything to your phone.
Install MeeGo on microSD & run it.If you don't MeeGo then just take out the microSD.You only need to flash MeeGo for the MeeGo startup only.
Maemo will be left pretty much untouched.

Seriously you're talking about primary phone? My N900 was my ONLY phone... laugh.gif
Yet I hacked it inside out...
Nokia could have donated any other their phone as my backup in case I fried my N900.
At least you have N8 from Rangers program.

Haha, cause I'm working and I have a family, hardly have time, have to "jaga baby". Really affected and change the time I have. I haven't have time to do many things every since my baby girl come into this world, else I would've done many things already.
In case I mess up, I'll need to spend a lot of time and concentration to fix it before I can go to work next day.

Phone without physical keyboard is a disaster to use. I can't bear with it, I hate typing with onscreen keyboard, there's no feel and it's annoying, and after using microB to surf and full Desktop version sites, it's hard to make do to those web browser on N8, it's a horror, torture.  tongue.gif
*
Personal life do comes 1st.

Don't remind me life without physical keyboard.I'm still having some doubt whether I made correct decision on buying full touchscreen phone.Only time will tell that.
microB might pwned in pretty much all the synthetic comparison but in term on usage it's definitely a good browser.
N900 has fmobi & sociality which are good facebook browser but for some reason I kept on coming back to full desktop version on microB.

I saw LG have one nice looking qwerty Android, looks like N900 design.  hmm.gif

Yea, I still pretty much prefer the full Desktop version on microB; just too bad there's not enough ram, and power hungry. It frequently hogs the memory especially in the virtual memory, resulting in poor performance, or sometimes serious lag or very slow respond. It requires patience and understanding hence accepting this problem, else just browse on light mode websites.
*
Aside from the browser & keyboard N900 has another unsung hero : Notification LED!

This might look pointless but it's sure helpful for people like me who always put phone on silent.
Too bad most of the manufacturers nowdays don't include this simple thing.

does anyone know what problem is this? i had installed my nitdroid in emmc. my bluetooth able to pair device but it's unable to receive files because it detect that memory card is absent , what should i do :S
and there is one more problem,i'm able to install files from market but unable to install files that i xfer from comp, i did allow the installation from non market source.still facing parsing problem.
*
If I'm not mistaken NITDroid don't detect MMC.I'll look around whether this is correct.

For the APK installation try to move the apk file to nitdroid root partition, unmount the sd card aka mmc & run the apk from new location.

and there is one more problem
i'm using N12, seems like my phone is warm..
and my battery drain out very fast..
i tried to constant online 3g + chat..battery 100% - 6% within 3 hours.
*
The heat is usual due to the long term 3G connection.NITDroid does put extra strain on N900 battery. Not sure why.

For the low battery life while in 3G.It's probably due to un-optimized drivers.
If DSP supported in NITDroid the overall battery usage could be better.

that's mean wifi consume less batt than 3g in n900?
and what do you mean by root partition ?
*
Yes.WiFi does consume less battery than 3G.This is generally true for all smartphones.

I assume you copied .apk file to MyDocs aka N900's 32GB internal memory?
After you install NITDroid in MMC the balance partition will act as SD Card.
You need to apps like root explorer or astro file manager to any location in the partition where you install NITDroid, unmount your MMC & try running the .apk file again.

I can't show you graphically the steps because I no longer have my N900 sad.gif

Try to move to different locations.
I've yet to root my SGS II so I can't point you to proper direction

fastest way to drain N900 battery - just WiFi hotspot + 3G.

speaking of the hotspot, I use Joikuspot and while my other devices can detect the network fine, Android devices just refuse to see it. sad.gif

and my N900 WiFi when attempt to connect to Yes4G router (via wifi of course) faces problem, asking for some PIN Method donno what thingy, unlike my regular WiFi connection to my WRT54GL where I just need to enter WPA key.
*
Android has some issues with some types of wifi connections.Especially ad hoc type.
You need to make some kind of modification to be able to connect to this type of network.

For the pin thingy solution just add the connection manually.Done.

unable to past at the other location.
no way more me to save the battery when i'm constantly on 3g?
*
I'll let you know later if there's any way to install apk.Anyway what is the apk file you want to install?

You can probably try OC-ing to stretch the usage time a bit.
3 hours + is decent enough without DSP & other proper drivers.
Even the newer dual core android phones barely making 5 hours + surfing

Regarding JoikuSpot, I have one weird problem, using DiGi, when I tether to other devices/pc, I can't access some websites, e.g. Facebook, Google yes, I think mostly those that requires secure connection? Cause I was able to go to Google Mail or Yahoo Mail main page, but when I log in, the connection refused/no connection. I read it could be the network block/limit tethering to certain sites or secured connection?
The weird thing is, sometimes, I was able to log in for a while when initially connected, then suddenly it doesn't allow me to enter those sites anymore.

Any ideas?
*
I don't think tethering will block any of the https sites.Might be something wrong with joikuspot setting itself?
Tried with your other phones?

QUOTE(xiia0ha0 @ Sep 16 2011, 11:25 AM)
the file i wanted to install is setcpu
but i already replace it with the cpu master free from market.
if i can't install the apk file in that way, i can't play lot of games sad.gif
nitdroid original is running at 250-1150..
i set to 250-805 for now.. conservative scaling..
what about your S2? i heard from my friend can last quite long :3

Added on September 16, 2011, 12:19 pmomg,help ,
i guess i bricked my phone
i use leafpad to change the  multiboot setting
from $(INT_CARD) to mmcblk.. but unable to boot
i changed back  to the original $(int----)
abe to flash fiasco, unable to flash emmc...
*
I didn't have any problem installing SetCPU with my NITDroid last time. What version do you have? For me SetCPU is the best CPU management tool for Android.
You can still play the free games by downloading them from Marker or App Planet.
I set my NITDroid to run at 250-1000MHz last time.I got pretty responsive performance from that setting.

Battery life of SGS II is oklah...Noting to shout about.
But since the battery is yet to be properly calibrated I cannot comment too much on it.

I don't get it.Changing the multiboot thingy will just brick NITDroid.Won't affect Maemo.
Then why did you flashed Maemo?
Anyway try taking the battery out & do try flashing again.
If still cannot flash might me dislodged eMMC or worst case fried eMMC.
If you still having trouble & can't solve it you can set your phone to me.I'll try to fix it for you FOC icon_idea.gif

Better hope that you can fix it because I heard for those who sent their faulty N900 to NCC it's Nokia policy now to replace them with E7 doh.gif

Yup, both Symbian and Maemo, even with default settings. For Symbian, after I install Bell, fresh install JoikuSpot, still same.
*
I'll message why sister later to ask about this.Need to ask her to try with her iPhone.

But I don't think she has any of this problem. If DiGi block facebook during data tethering for sure I heard her rage voice long time ago.
I think it's Joikuspot issue.
Yesterday's N9 had DiGi line also.Should have tested your issue yesterday.
