QUOTE(retro_rave @ Jun 6 2011, 10:22 AM) well i think it really depends la. if u go to nokia shop, like the one at my place, they still stick to the original price, which is around rm19++. but if u scout around, if u r in luck u can get around rm1.1k ori set. so best bet is to scout around first. Added on June 6, 2011, 10:27 amuninstall the few most recent stuff ever since the prob occur. run the "killall browserd" cmd, as suggested frm prev page. * special thanks to those who guide me. and try not to go offline, i dunno y going offline makes the browserd ate up the cpu, some bugs i guess. might be something you installed which constantly get update from the net, refresh your memory what you have installed before the problem start

QUOTE(versustheversed @ Jun 6 2011, 11:42 PM) i turned off all connectivity. network mode set to GSM (2.5). i think retro_rave got it right. there's some internal application draining my battery. i just dont know what and how to stop it. i turn on 3G,wifi whole day and still manage to get it run for 24 hours, so it is not much of a problem if you can charge it everyday installed conky? call it out and see what program constantly running high with CPU usage, or you can use htop to check it also with less attractive visual, or back to basic use 'top' at XT to check I once forget to turn off dosbox for 2 hours and let it run background, drain half of my battery in that short 2 hours

QUOTE(retro_rave @ Jun 9 2011, 08:45 PM) cant really remember the link... but try google for power kernal v47 maemo 5. choose the link that goes to maemo.org. got instruction there. QUOTE(Bushido @ Jun 9 2011, 08:48 PM) updating it via the App Manager, does it update to V47? use application manager, remember to add in extra-dev, look for kernel and you will find linux kernel for v47 install at your own risk

QUOTE(Bushido @ Jun 13 2011, 04:43 PM) Oh i thought someone already able to use Whatsapp for Symbian on our N900. Where are you accessing that Android market from? Your N900? symbian and maemo don't mix...except QT Android on N900 is called Nitroid, it is a modified Android OS for N900 to run as an alternated OS system via the multiboot system (sort of install winxp and vista together giving you a dual boot OS). You can only run one OS at a time. Meego is another OS still developing Once you booted into Nitroid, your phone disguised as an android phone, so you can do what other android phone is capable of (anyone confirm the latest Nitroid can make phone call already?) QUOTE(Bushido @ Jun 13 2011, 07:17 PM) Yeap I knew about NitDroid, just no time to fiddle with it now as i'm having my finals.. What's the minimum space required for NitDroid ah? Or is it save to install in eMMC? 2G, you can put in external memory or you can install into emmc. before decide to install in emmc, you might want to reformat your emmc with larger home space.

QUOTE(one1002 @ Jun 15 2011, 10:12 PM) easiest way is to install openSSH (N900) and winscp (windows) only workable if you have pc on hand, if you only got the phone and want to do some file shifting or editing some config, filebox still the best

QUOTE(bagata @ Jun 15 2011, 10:22 PM) Yeah i know but nothing happens when i pressed the power button. just that the led light up when i plug into the USB when you flashing, no need to turn on power, the power is from USB hold the U then plug in the USB cable, when the usb symbol appears, release the U, you don't have to touch anything on the phone anymore

QUOTE(V429 @ Jun 16 2011, 12:00 AM) Thank you to both Super_Evil_Alien and Mashimarow, apt-get update does the trick and apt-get install does the rest. Anyhow.. really got nobody with any experience with the 2400mah mugen battery? i rather get another extra original battery than use uncertify battery, not knowing what current it runs might burn my precious:-D

Meego is very active this month, at least 4 updates released already, if I got the extra memory card, I might try my hand on it already. Quite the contrary, Nitroid suddenly seems quiet down after the last release which cast some doubt whether the creator stop the project

QUOTE(milolauda @ Jun 25 2011, 09:17 AM) wat is the current price of a Good Quality Used set in the market now? is it okay to get an overclocked set as it might weakened the processor with constant excess heat builtup on the cores? anything overclocked will shorten the expected lifespan of a machine, either your display card, cpu or even your phone, and you void your warranty if anything goes wrong p.s. who is going to use the phone for over 3 years anyway
