yeah, those address looks weird, can't even open manually

try patent method, add extras only first, get the fast application manager and use that one to install other things

Take over? I doubt it; It's like 2 different OS; MeeGo Harmattan doesn't look like Maemo breed, too much difference.

Just wondering, the difference between MeeGo Harmattan and actual MeeGo, and what's the compatibilities or difference in practical use or for end user.
*
some claim Harmattan is just a Maemo 6, an upgrade only, not a real meego, more like symbian S60 and symbian^3

compatibilities not really sure, it is too new, and some program coder like MAG is writing program for N9 already wink.gif

need to sudo gainroot even after rooted the phone?
*
ah, now I understand your question, after root, you can't use CD command
you need to use sudo gainroot

ROOT is for master command such as reboot, apt-get where dealing with main system
SUDO GAINROOT is giving authorization for altering with files and directories

notice when you root, it goes to Nokia-N900 :~#
but when you sudo gainroot, you goes to /home/user #

just out of curiosity, what language we need to study if we want to write a program for N900? and what tools need to compile it?

Linux is a wide topic, we target on Debian? or N900 use a specific coding?

Seems correct provided you .ipk file is actually in MyDocs.
*

I'm saying the command will work if the game itself is in MyDocs. No point trying to executing the commands if the game folder is in other location isn't it?
*
Now I am confusing, isn't all webos games installed in opt folder?

You can customize it to install in any directory you want.
Some of the famous directory:
MyDocs
opt
microSD
*
now the problem is I use deb to install, so it is installed in \home\opt\preenv\usr\palm\applications\(game folder).
so all those sh file not going to work anymore? what if I go in sh file and alter all the directory inside?

The .deb files were packaged to be installed in opt directory.
If you want to install the games in custom directory you need to install manually using the .ipk files.
I think sh should still work.
*
hm...perhaps the script got problem or I miss the steps, angrybirdrio.sh is not working as it should it, not response at all wink.gif

kind of strange if you like android so much, why not buy a real android phone. No matter how close is Nitroid to Android, it is still an emulator unsure.gif

N12 version is the most stable one, and rumors capable of phone/sms, but seems all sifus here very quiet about it and no confirmation wink.gif

Thank you for the replies.
Yes, I really love Android. I'm personally using Garmin Asus A10 right now, but this phone gives me a lot of headache. I thought of upgrading to better Android phones, but they're kind of expensive right now, so I thought of getting a NITdroid that might suit my current budget.

No problem, I shall wait for stable release then, and pray that in the next release, calls and SMS will be solved by them.
Yup, I agree that it's not advisable, but this is the price of being unique, I guess?
*
I got some rumor that nitroid project is stopped.
Samsung Ace shouldn't be expensive and cheaper than N900. HTC Incredible a bit higher but powerful. or perhaps moto atrix 4G
If you buy N900 not for it's Maemo, you are going to regret. Unless you are the adventurous type like to torture your phone

Thank you for everyone advice.
I've decided not to buy N900.
*
no offence but it is for your own good blush.gif
If you ask about it last year, we will recommand you to buy, but now, don't think it is a wise idea.

an off topic question:--
other than N900 has rdesktop, any other phone got such capability?
