btw, while i order the A52JV, the lady at the shop said they have N53 and is available . i keep telling her how come the model is available as ASUS has recalled but she insist that she is aware of the problem with SB but they do have stock avaialble and is ready for collection in one week time . i almost pay my deposit for that N53 but ended up pull it back as i worry there is something fishy behind. may be the stock is from Singapore?  rclxub.gif

ehh Lenovo just updated their annoucement. It says "Details of this program will be made available February 23, 2011".....today. Anyway now im pretty sure intel already release the updated version or else they would not change their annoucement

Added on February 23, 2011, 9:48 pmoh yea, just for info for any1 who want to buy the Lenovo y560p....it does not have switchable graphics. The idiots at Lenovo change their advertisment by saying the y560o is not supported with switchable graphics. Few weeks ago, i check and check like 100 times lookin at the same advertisment saying that IT SUPPORT SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS.
Can sue lenovo like that??? tongue.gif

Hey guys Lenovo just updated their news bout the flaw thingy

Lenovo is establishing a special service program that will assist customers who purchased PCs affected by the Intel series 6 chipset announcement. This special service program provides a proactive, free of charge replacement system board through normal service channels as defined by the system’s warranty terms and conditions. These parts will become available by April 8, 2011. At that time customers may contact service by referring to the support number for their home country. If any customer is not satisfied with this offer, please give us a call so that we may better understand your concerns.

http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/su...pportphone.html

Lenovo wants to reassure its customers that it is safe to use their Idea-branded PCs with Intel 6-series chipsets, and that customers data is not threatened by this issue.

Lenovo also wants to reassure its customers that the probability of failure in these Intel system boards is very low, and estimated to be less than five percent over three years, well within industry averages for system board failure rates. As a result, the large majority of Lenovo customers will continue to use their new Lenovo PC with Intel 6 Series chipset with no evidence of failure.

Possible Lenovo models affected may include those listed below:

* IdeaPad laptop Y460P, Y560P
* IdeaCentre desktop K330

Of these, we have shipped a limited number of units with the affected Intel chip worldwide. As of February 1, 2011, Lenovo has stopped shipping all products with the affected chipset.

Yeah, that's what I'm reading.  I'm also concerned about maintenance for the fan itself: after a while, the fan and vents do pick up a lot of dust which makes them not so efficient.  The N and A series both have me scratching my head trying to figure out how to clean those without completely disassembling the case.

wtf vent collect dust???? air is coming out how can it collect dust

Guys now its already confrim Lenovo y560p confirm 100% no switchable graphics. They lied to me......

All,

Thanks for your patience and for working with James and Cleo over the last several weeks as we researched this through engineering and development.

In the end, it appears that the website was in error - the Y460p and Y560p models do not support switchable graphics even though there may be references to the feature in the preload and / or in some documentation that was common across several models of systems.

Engineering indicates that this is not supported as implemented in the hardware design of these systems, and that it cannot be resolved through BIOS or driver update.

The system board updates that will be provided through the Intel Series 6 Chipset program will be the same type of board, with an updated version of the affected Intel chip to correct that port 2-5 design flaw and will not provide additional features / functions such as the enablement of switchable graphics.

This was an error in documentation of the system's features, and it has been corrected on the website. I understand that this will be disappointing news for those of you who wanted to make use of this feature.

If you wish to return the system, please contact Lenovo web sales - they should be able to work with you on a refund, or any available options to move to a different system.

Apologies,

Mark

Chill man lol.. Still rememeber u're so PRO Lenovo when u first bought the laptop, hahah now totally ANTI ar?

Anyways, Lenovo is still doing a good job managing the former IBM Thinkpad lines.. Good QC, build and everything, u gotta give them credits for that... Other laptops have no relation to IBM at all, they're all originally from Lenovo
*
yea, i regreted talking so highly about Lenovo. Now I ANTI-Lenovo. THEY SUCK. Not sure about the IBM Thinkpad though. Hope they are not so screwed up just like the Ideapad.

well, at least they are willing to offer a refund... that's the best that they can do after screwing up with the documentation... wat else do u want?

I don't think they scew it up. Might be a scandal. What can't of dumba** does not know the details of its own creation. They should test it throughoutly before selling it. IMO, they made the fasle advertisment to attract more customer and change it after they sold off most of their stock.

well, even companies like Intel can screw up as well... it juz a mistake of 1 person in the team and it can cause a catastrophic error...

as we always say, shit happens, doesn't matter if it's a MNC or SMB... the best that can be done is to minimize the damage if shit really does happen... Lenovo did the right thing by offering a refund, since some ppl would ve gotten a different laptop if they never say Y560P has switchable graphic...

at least they ve the guts to own up... not like NV... $%#@^$@(
*
huh NV??? You mean the 8 series issue???
