QUOTE(HarDiE @ Feb 1 2011, 06:35 PM) after going through all the page... it still didnt mention the solution? theyre going to replace only? They are not sure if they are gonna replace it cause if they replace them they will suffer a loss of around 700 million US dolalrs...read from an article.if it really design flaw they have to redesign? or just the material of the chip? Right now intell is producing a new chipset version of the i7 to replace the old one. The flaw of the chip is the material....the silicon. |

Hmmm I wonder when the OEM in Malaysia will start to recall the laptops cause we might be using the affected laptop and it will start to the degrade the performance of our HDD and Dvd drive. Plus...will they replace the HDD and Dvd Drive???

QUOTE(GooD_DaY @ Feb 9 2011, 08:40 PM) Mostly won't since it's the motherboard which is having problem unless your HDD or optical drive is affected in this short period. yea kinda true unless the OEM does not want us to be threatened by this issues. But i doubt that....they rather save more money by only changing the mobo |

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Feb 10 2011, 12:30 PM) ivy bridge is 20% much faster than the Sandy Bridge.Ivy Bridge support directX 11 and SB support directX 10. Its not really a replacement...more like a new model. They are gonna release it maybe on July, End of this year or early next year. |

QUOTE(twhong_91 @ Feb 10 2011, 04:47 PM) RAM got GDDR 5 meh?? lolRAM is DDR3 la not GDDR3 im asking bout the GPU Added on February 10, 2011, 4:57 pmKinda feel really worried now. Acer has already annouce that they are gonna pick up and change mobo and give 2 other option. Asus to the same also and reset warranty. But lenovo only said they aware bout this issue and only provide mobo swap and will update us soon.....and that was like 10 days ago. No updates from Lenovo?? dam, no wonder they are falling behind. Maybe through this issue we can really determine ourself which company privide great after sales service. So far Asus has kept up to their promise and now Acer is like rising. But lenovo.....no updates yet also. Just annocement I hope they Lenovo will also reset warranty but im worried. I go to their support page and update my warranty from when i bought it in Jan. But my warranty status still says that it will follow from when the laptop was manufactured which is late Dec. They din update my warranty~!!!! Lenovo im starting to hate you now This post has been edited by Trance4eva: Feb 10 2011, 05:00 PM |

QUOTE(Quantum_thinking @ Feb 11 2011, 12:39 AM) Indeed. However, it is quite annoying to transfer here and there. I have to tell my stories again and again to the agent who just pick up the call when dealing with this kind of situation. Omg im starting to imagine all the hassle im gonna face with Lenovo. They don't provide pickup from your doorsteps service like Acer.By the way, does this problem affects the Desktop i7 SB processor as well? Anybody know where the nearest service center is in Subang Jaya??? I feel like asking them when the repacements parts are coming. Also should I ask them to add a thermal compund on my laptop???And how much are they gonna charge me?? I having some temp problems when I was playing high graphic games and the temp shoot up to 95C++. Very scared la |

QUOTE(This is a Lamp @ Feb 11 2011, 09:50 AM) 95C is horrible! You probably need a cooler or something! Also, where do you place your laptop? The surface material sometimes matters...you can't really play on the bed because the hot air gets back in the laptop. Place on a cooler also like that. Some more place the fan directly facing the vent under my laptop |

QUOTE(astria @ Feb 11 2011, 10:09 AM) not everyone is using a Sager... You sure or not??I thought 80C++ is normal. 95C during full load is pretty normal for us... mine would e been at this range too if i haven't replace the stock thermal compound with OCZ Freeze... I think i should add some thermal compound. How much would it cost?? |

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Feb 11 2011, 01:40 PM) why do you say lucky u din choose SB laptop. Its actually better. When you not using ur ATI or Nvidia GPU it will automaticly switch to the intergrated graphic and it will save tons of power. SB is way much more better and faster than the old wan. Just incase u dunno, the integrated GPU and a Main GPU can be found in most laptops. So technically they have 2 GPU. 1 for power consumtion and the other for other heavy apps |
