why 4g18 auto gearbox doesn't use ATF filter? Doesn't that damages the gearbox faster?
Or do we need to open up the GB oil pan and clean it everytime when we change the ATF?

I faced the same problem as yours, thought the switch at first but it's not. Save up more budget and get the Steelmate 898G, very awesome alarm. laugh.gif

One major differences compare to the original alarm is the distance. I can still check my car status, temperature while having a coffee at the other side of my campus or pool side. Comes with auto start, shock sensor, anti hijack. Oh, also central looking when you press on the brake and unlock the door when you shut the engine down.

Not sure about you, but I have heard numerous people complain after changing to those cheaper alarm, their battery flattened between few days due to voltage leakage. Better change a better one instead of changing few times. tongue.gif

ATF works in a way that it transfers fluid pressure in the valve body to lock certain brake bands and clutch packs to get different different kinds of tarios on a single planetary gear system. However, I'm still not sure if the Waja gearbox has a filter in it.

What you can do to prolong the life of the ATF and gearbox is by adding :

- Oil sump magnet http://shopfiltermag.com/cart/index.php?ma...ur2qa21rmni44o0

- ATF cooler

From the answer I get from mxsteven, and my other friend, they said that the auto GB of waja 4g18 doesn't have the ATF filter, that's why my question arose.

By adding the oil sump magnet & ATF cooler it sure prolongs the life of the gearbox, but a simple filtering system will make a bigger difference if compare to the 2 options above, right? I was just wondering why the auto GB of waja 4G18 doesn't have filter in it.
Well as mxsteven said, the technology used to design the GB were different, which require high flow of ATF?

So how you guys maintain your auto GB? Just normal drain the oil out and refil it back? No need to remove the GB oil pan and wash away the metal residue on the oil sump magnet?
To those who driving waja 4g18 auto, please share some info.

Thanks.

For Auto GB, my mech told me that there is a long life filter but need to dismantle the GB to change it... but i doubt it.. if u look at the top part near the auto oil filler, u can see a round shape.. this is where supposed to fit the filter (the filter looks like engine oil filter) but this was omitted for some reason i dunno y... maybe save cost...(correct me if i m wrong)...

so far my gb has travelled more than 400k km without any trouble..but i do practice of changing the GB auto oil every 35k km and installing a atf cooler too...

bro elton can be witness on the milleage...kekekeke

So you mean just drain out the oil and refill it will do?
No need to remove the oil sump and clean it?
How many litres does the ATF need?

I've no idea whi isnt there a filter honestly. If you want a simple filtering system, go for Magnefine ATF inline filter
