@ CrossX, silentser or those who did the hardware gps fix ... how long does it take to lock for the first time after the fix? did u use a cover or just bare phone? lastly, which app u used to test? gps test or status? thanks in advance smile.gif

i think i am now quite pro at striping my phone naked .. LOL ... everything works fine other than current gps situation ...
*
1st gps lock took me around 5 to 6 minutes, then the rest of the time is almost instant, i tried locking in 2 secs... but really rare la XD

i tested it with a silicone case on... SGS gps antenna works fine with a casing, unlike DHD (muahahaha biased me)

lol had a hard time understanding it... but i think the jupiter.xml thing is the one responsible for the AGPS processing, logging blah blah blah and that the stock jupiter.xml is not properly coded for practical use...

Thank you so much for your help. Knocked out yesterday. Not try yet. Will do later.

Anyway I saw engadget mentioned that the new Android Market Website doesn't not work with Rooted Device.
Is like a jailbreak iphone 4???
Is it possible for us to unroot our device :-p

Added on February 5, 2011, 2:02 pm

I appreciate for the sharing. But I feel not secure to do it this way coz there are some uncertainties from you. :-p
*
no prob...

good luck going into the dark side...

its possible to unroot, easy enough, our SGS can be unrooted just by flashing back a stock firmware with the stock kernel... Odin's the way to go

For junior SGS owners, i still recommend using darky's resurrection edition, which is to flash thru odin, its really the best and easiest way to get an error free custom ROM on ur SGS (from what i think that is, coz some if ur on some ROMs and when u suddenly switch to another, it is prone to have some errors, i believe using Odin is the best way to go)
But bare in mind, do a backup first since flashing using odin will repartition the phone and u will lose important stuffs like ur apps, sms, contacts, etc...

Thanks, CrossX.

Lately, I encounter keyboad hangs and lag when typing Memo and Message. Hopefully after kernelling. The problem will be solved.
By the way, is Darky ROM USer interface is the same like Samsung Original??
*
yup... unless ur using other apps to replace the launcher, sms apps, and so on basically custom ROM have similar UI, or mayb some light themes that makes the ROM looks nicer

@ CrossX. I have tried the files downloaded from your site. It's 1.1.0.0 version while the link at front page is 1.3.0.0.
I manage to install the phone. But I got the notification prompting that... root unsucessful device is rebooting. After reboot, my phone respond has become even more sluggish. Like snail!! I really need urgent help here! Anyone please??? (for your info, I remove the SD Card when I use z4root)

I have redownload the file. And this time, the file is functioning. And I manage to install z4root and root my device successfully. I think previously, the file I download from the first page link file size is not tally.
I just don't know why.
Anyway, thanks for those who provided me with a lot of helps.

sorry it didnt work out... blush.gif

Hi Kmrdeva,

So, have you flashed to Darky 9.2? How is it?

I'm on Doc's Rom but there is still something bothering me.
Most of his themes (or adopted from other people) have this Black Text against a black background problem. I can't read the text!!!

Now I'm using NeonGT Theme, still have this problem when I'm using my Calender. I want click on the Date to change it, the text is black I can't see it...sigh...what a let down...I uses my calendar everyday...
*

im in malaysia, so some of T-mobile pre install feature that i want dont want it. so i might use standard SGS rom and not Vibrant Rom
*
not sure whether it will work or not... haha coz few days ago i was trying hard to poison a friend to get SGS within a budget so its either Vibrant or Captivate..

Did you update Voodoo Controls app to v.0.6.x? It overrides the media volume with amplifier.
Haha! Yeah, really like the yellow too. Was thinking should I get matte or glossy one? If matte i am going for the white one. If glossy probably the yellow.  drool.gif
*
lol jason is gonna bite me when he COD with me...

Vivid series theres Dante Red, Reventon Yellow, and also Fantasia(extreme cases like jason who wanna feel special brows.gif )
Matte series, i would choose, Champagne Gold, Gunmetal, Satin Silver, or White...

Basically its any color that makes our SGS stands out from the crowd... hahaha

@Fornaxlife

Just Curious, can we change the UI in darky ROM to twlauncher?
I think I saw someone saying that we can switch between Speedmod Kernel and Voodoo. Is it true?
*
darky ROM has a few launcher to choose from if not mistaken and u return to twlauncher using home switcher app...

u can flash voodoo on top of speedmod and vice versa... dun think u can have both installed and toggle thou tongue.gif
