Atrix and gang forms the first batch of the dual core android assault.. interesting indeed.. especially Atrix, being able to dock and become a laptop.

I believe our SGS is firmly the king of the single core Androids.. even DHD can't come close, lacking a GPU unit..
*
actually i think LG Optimus 2X is the first batch, not sure thou... really cool but not as cool as atrix... XD

DHD does have a GPU unit, its just not as good... DHD uses adreno 204 or 5 i dun remember but it doesnt have NEON, something which allows our SGS to play various video file formats.
DHD is faster compared to SGS but still the the video recording in 720p sucks not to mention u can record but playback on the phone is not allowed (stupid right?)

*
haha 1 week dunno flashed how many roms...

Doc's without any themes and modded touchwiz GTG... seriously, without a theme the whole phone is just so fast...

Simi clock widget is really nice..... very minimalist... XD doubles as a launcher too

Im currently on stock dxjpe with 3e recovery. My phone has slowed down a lot after I undo oclf.
Is it fine for me to flash dxjpe from samfirmware on my phone so I can start fresh from the start?
Must I repartition with pit 513 or don't need pit because I'm already on stock dxjpe?
*
samfirmware dxjpe is corrupted...

u can follow this guide and the link to the stock DXJPE is also there...
http://touristinparadise.blogspot.com/2011...tall-froyo.html

or u can always try using custom ROMs, its better compared to stock roms

Added on February 3, 2011, 2:46 pmguys.....docs vs darkky.....which one is faster and stable??
*
my personal opinion... i like doc's its stable and snappier... used to be on darky's but after going bright not really fond of going back into the dark... XD

darky is more newb friendly, and it has a lot of functions built in directly, without themes u can have 4 lockscreens available, and so on...

doc's u need to use a kitchen to cook the custom ROM, i think its nice since u get to choose what is included and which CSC, Modem, and PDA to match... without any themes on Doc its really fast...

Hi guys,

For those on Doc's XWJS3, do you face this issue?

When you pull down the notifications menu, some of the texts are Black in colour and because the background colour is black, you can't see the text.

Example, the info on Lookout Mobile Security, or when downloading music using Gtunes, the text of the notification status can't be read...hope you understand what I mean...

I tried different themes, ie Doc's Theme, R64, Cozmic, Generation X and still have the same problem.

I flashed to Darky 9.1, the notification menu has a light grey background, so I can see the blacktext.

The stock theme also has a grey notification background but a bit boring....

Any idea how to solve this? Is there an option for me to change text to White?

Thanks
*
i used to have this problem if i flashed a theme like gingermix v4... its very annoying with all the transparent notification background... would rather use the stock 1...

QUOTE(alvinz @ Feb 4 2011, 11:31 AM)
just wanna let everyone know and reassure that the GPS Hardware Fix is super duper easy! .. follow the instructions from the link posted on 1st page and u r all done ... IT IS SERIOUSLY VERY EASY!
my warranty sticker wasnt on the screws so it is easy for me ... Just dont be like me, being too skeptical about it being too easy and went overboard, just consulted my electronic engineering friend and since my whole chrome antenna is still afix i can just stick it back onto the board with super glue!! ...
it can use both GPS and data plan, by using both together it will become A-GPS which locks on faster due to using network satellites to determine ur location ...
no worries, it can be used with just GPS alone ... since i dont have my gps antenna now, i would need to use data plan to try get a lock and check where i am when i go sightseeing ...
*
i not sure if super glue could solve it since super glue isnt that conductive.... i'm also an electrical and electronics engineer undergraduate...
and also 1 thing to remind u of... if u really use super glue, i can assure u that ur warranty is certainly gone... why would super glue suddenly appear under the casing unless u opened it up and did something, if the metal piece just pop up it might b reasonable that there's a manufacturing defect.

I think its better to snap everything back in place and also make sure the warranty sticker isnt damaged too far, and send it back to warranty XD

I did the hardware fix too but i nvr meddled with the bottom base since the idea is just to make the metal make proper contact with the antenna which is located in the plastic housing that u pull out b4 revealing the metal piece... just bend the top part nice and slow till its high enough and cover everything back...

Why Dark instead of Doc???
And someone help me with rooting please!
*
Darky's is easier to install... its all in one and ready to be played with...

Doc u need to cook the rom, u need to experiment a bit for the right concoction of base rom, csc, and modem (well at least i do XD), apps that u want and so on...

Try darky's 9.2... its easy, just flash thru odin and ur set to go, of coz there's an extra step which is to install the apps u want thru the resurrection.zip.... u dun even need to be rooted to be on darky now... XD

super glue here is different from m'sia, its not those thick liquid form but much more 'watery' .. now its back in it's place and cant trace at all ..

hopefully it works .. wanna do a fresh rom install at the same time but problem now is i cant access to xda forums ... anyone got doc's kitchen link?
found it: http://romkitchen.org/ .. gonna cook something fresh .. hehehe
*
i was curious about super glue when u mentioned it earlier and i saw it would absorb moisture and might corrode... not sure thou.. XD

hopefully it works for u...
