Fascinate and Epic is just as slim, and it has LED flash. what you said regarding flash doesn't hold up, at all. your argument is baseless. admit it.
and Samsung is indeed stupid, they delivered a phone that lags out of the box. true fact.

EDIT: when i bought the SGS, i know it doesn't have flash, expected. but i didn't expect it to lag like an O2 Mini from half a decade ago.
*
calm down calm down buddy... XD

ya it lags but at least there's a fix now... ^^
i agree with u SGS is indeed flawed, i bought it even though i knew there was a problem and even after switching to DHD i switched back... all becoz SGS is a lot better... tongue.gif

and I also support the comment about iOS feels more like an app launcher instead of an OS, android... there's a whole lot more of possibilities on android than on iOS, what makes iOS superior is becoz apple is so capable of turning iphone into a TREND, not just a phone, being a iphone4 user for 1 night (hehe), yes it feels good but feels really restricted, nothing to do... I believe app and game developers are just trying to make money out of the current trend, its not becoz ip4 has better specs or ip4 apps and games are easier to develop...

Anyway, i'm a proud SGS owner that flashes the phone all over looking at those who r using optimus one, defy, desire, or even the so called "Best Android Phone" Desire HD...

haha..@ jason and headhunter...dont mumbling over a small matter..i admit it..what jason said is true fact...and headhunter said about ios also true...about the camera flash..it is up to user preferences...and i'm eager to see what inside the SGS2 that samsung had to provide the customer according the feedback from sgs2 predecessor....but i think i'm just stick to my current sgs because of this community and no money to buy a new one...hahaha.. sad.gif  sad.gif ...
*
haha i must say, SGS owners in lyn feels a lot more friendly XD

never wait. if you need a new phone right now, buy it now.
but honestly, i would prefer a DHD over a SGS, bigger screen (no S-AMOLED, but the HTC screen is acceptable), flash for camera (very important feature for me), HTC Sense (makes is usable out of the box), and no lagging issues.

*
yup flash is actually quite useful, i would like it too, but DHD's camera has some issues too... the sharpness thing, i tried the tweaks and cant find the right setting during my times with DHD...

once u go amoled u wont go for other screens hahaha... DHD is bulky, a 0.3" addition adds to the weight, not to mention the washed out colors u will see... Was kinda shocked to see the green color of the android market on my SGS when i switched to SGS from DHD... nvr knew that DHD's LCD screen washed out that green color so much...

HTC sense... erm... a bloatware to me if u ask me, nvr really most of the widgets provided... hahaha and hey, DHD lags my friend... but of coz it can b fixed with a toggle on the usb debugging... still its a flaw right???

each phone also got flaws but its highly dependent on user preferences... ^^
like me, cheated by both phones but i'm willing to be cheated by samsung ngek ngek ngek

QUOTE(Bugeca @ Feb 13 2011, 11:20 PM)
Never knew DHD has a flaw.

Anyway, HTC Desire (not the HD one) also have one flaw. The touch screen can only detect two fingers and it will miss registered the touch points if these two fingers cross each other. Example, if one fingers touching the left part of the screen, the screen registered it on the right by following the other finger.

One of the reasons I ditched Desire for SGS after two months.
*
DHD flaws arent too great, but its still flaws... and to me the annoyance is far greater than SGS... XD i cant believe u cant view what u record in 720p or should i say its not capable of viewing it... (i had been dwelling at this for weeks now XD)

oh not to mention GPS has problems too... u cant cover the top of the DHD, it will not receive any GPS signal that way, i had a casing on and i tot there's a problem and after a few days i took out the casing and it locked just fine but not fast anyways XD

Do you think  because of the software restrictions / development capabilities or because of Qualcomm which makes me think of SGS2. How is the performance when rumors (has it been confirmed?) said it will be equipped with Qualcomm.
*
its becoz of the hardware chip from what i know since its hummingbird that makes all of those 720p + 30fps and all the different support for other video format possible

Samsung Original firmware 2.2.1 only available for European Version.
Not in Asian as I don't see any 2.2.1 for Asia frimware.
*
ya true arr...

y ler???

2.2.1 is only european, but still no big deal, the csc and modem can still b customized to our liking... for docs, we can use 2.2.1 coupled with a malaysian CSC with asia modem also... makes no difference...

i think the only difference is the locale i think...

The Problem is European ROM mean we can't install the Samsung Apps for Asia region like Mini Diaries and write and go. And also the I couldn't find the latest Diopen IME and I like the Samsung Theme and the bootanime...
Which I couldn't do anything about it as I'm with Darky ROM.

And that's why I ask ppl favor to extract bootanime and the way to extract diopen IME and till now, nobody knows how to do it.
*
hehe the beauty of Doc's rom, u still have mini diaries, write and go XD
diopen i installed on my own tongue.gif

u can cook a doc's rom with ori samsung bootanimation and extract it and put into darky if u want...
as for the theme i'm not sure how to port it to another rom

I have the same thinking as you. I don't bother ppl saying apps launcher or proper OS (as good as to be heard)
Google never does its job properly in writing the code for its Android System (that could be the reason they stop selling Nexus as they really don't know how to handle it). I have read in the web before. Some developers complaining that they lauched the Android system (froyo) with a lots of bugs.
They leave the fixing part to the developer or the manufacturer software engineers to fix the problems, in which I think Samsung Engineers are a bit slow poke!
Yes, I must admit that Google has a lot of fresh ideas with they OS. But what's the point if the ideas are full of bugs and laggy. I don't know about others, but I will definitely feel upset.
No point boosting about Android is an OS by itself and can do this can do that...blah blah blah, and in the end of the day, it give me headache with lag issue.
The success of iphone 4 is not just merely they are able to make the phone the TREND as I don't see SGS lose out in the sleeky and trendy design/ outlook of their phone. In fact, there are more. Even iphone 4 is an apps launcher, but the silky smooth of the apps running(even with very low available memory) as well as the quality of them (apps) is just astonishing!
For android supporters, please don't get too upset with my post here. I just wanna share my thought here only. I'm still holding an SGS, ok?
As an Android user, I really hope Google would have done better. If they happen to make their own phone and start selling again. I definitely won't buy. The company is a bit unreliable for mobile phone business. Let them do their software part well.

But CrossX, do you have photo and video editor?

I'm lazy to flash again. Can you help to extract the Samsung Original booanimation for me plzzzzz? I love it.
By the way, what is your diopen version (Check the date...from menu>about I think)?
*
No point ranting all over my dear forumer friends (i mean those still caught up in android vs Iphone war), each phone has its pro and cons, so next time do some homework b4 choosing a phone and dont regret getting one which is "flawed" since its ur job to do some research.
Trends are not just about appearance, its about a movement, if there's 10 person in a group and 8 of them are using iphone4, the 8 would normally affect the other 2's decision in a phone to get. Besides, apple put a lot of effort in advertising it making it looks like a phone everybody would go for which it is true. If u observe, iphone users are just basic users, android is flawed badly but if utilized well, its a great phone.
Think of it this way, iphone is a trend, ppl should go for it, but android is for art lovers, they take their android seriously, modding it and playing it in their own special way and they love it.
Personally i would go for pad if its for tablet coz galaxy tab is not as attractive, but for a phone i will still got for SGS hahaha

not sure which version just got it online instead since i dunno how to extract it...
photo and video editior? nope i'm not using any coz i rarely use those stuffs, all i do it watch videos (dramas tongue.gif) and play games on my SGS

The reason why iPhone4 is smooth is because of its closed system, have you seen an heavily modified jailbroken iphone? It does lag and hangs as well.

But i do admit there's bug in android's release, but so does iOS. Nothing is flawless in this world
*
would really like to see a heavily modded jailbroken iphone XD

yes, there's no such thing as a perfect phone, the perfect phone is in the eyes of a person who doesnt mind the flaws of a flawed phone... XD

no problem man. you should share your review of it. looks nice in champagne gold..but still yellow is my love  brows.gif
*
Yup made the right choice choosing champagne gold, if not later all gunmental then sien lor hahaha
Yellow is still the best color, sharp, stands out the most in crowds...

The matte finish of the casing is nice but not what i really expected, expecting a rougher matte finish and mayb a bit of a metal feel something like the Desire HD if u know what i mean. tongue.gif

THe phone fits nicely into the case but have to apply a few rubber strips provided to prevent the casing from scratching the chrome bezel, the back is nicely shielded and they have also provided three camera lens protector which i've looked all over for XD

Real solid case which adds a bit of thickness to the phone, but in a good way, better grip and looks bolder if u choose a very very sharp color (I challenge anybody to take up the vivid series fantasia color XD)

Added on February 15, 2011, 3:55 pm@fornx how is the SGP ultra silke like??? does it feel like a silicone case which is hard to put into pockets?

@jason i tried to remove the top layer of the screen protector but nothing came off other than the whole screen protector itself, u sure there's another layer?
