Please help! I wake up this morning and when i touch my phone it was switched off and incredibly hot! I cant be turned on and I dont know what to do. Is it brick?

you only can install 300mb of apps under onenand mode if i'm not mistaken. tried before, the recovery mode looks weird

Fascinate and Epic is just as slim, and it has LED flash. what you said regarding flash doesn't hold up, at all. your argument is baseless. admit it.

EDIT: when i bought the SGS, i know it doesn't have flash, expected. but i didn't expect it to lag like an O2 Mini from half a decade ago.

haha..@ jason and headhunter...dont mumbling over a small matter..i admit it..what jason said is true fact...and headhunter said about ios also true...about the camera flash..it is up to user preferences...and i'm eager to see what inside the SGS2 that samsung had to provide the customer according the feedback from sgs2 predecessor....but i think i'm just stick to my current sgs because of this community and no money to buy a new one...hahaha..   ...

but honestly, i would prefer a DHD over a SGS, bigger screen (no S-AMOLED, but the HTC screen is acceptable), flash for camera (very important feature for me), HTC Sense (makes is usable out of the box), and no lagging issues.

have you all see an android ads in the movie or on tv..nahhh...iphone?...their investment in ads is big enuf to make it as a trend or fashion fever...no wonder no peoples queue up to buy android phone...hahaha

Never knew DHD has a flaw.

Anyway, HTC Desire (not the HD one) also have one flaw. The touch screen can only detect two fingers and it will miss registered the touch points if these two fingers cross each other. Example, if one fingers touching the left part of the screen, the screen registered it on the right by following the other finger.

One of the reasons I ditched Desire for SGS after two months.

Do you think  because of the software restrictions / development capabilities or because of Qualcomm which makes me think of SGS2. How is the performance when rumors (has it been confirmed?) said it will be equipped with Qualcomm.

Samsung Original firmware 2.2.1 only available for European Version.
Not in Asian as I don't see any 2.2.1 for Asia frimware.

is anyone on DXJPE at the moment? I just updated 2 weeks ago and I notice that sometimes the phone can vibrate itself after I shut down and when I on the phone...is this normal?

The Problem is European ROM mean we can't install the Samsung Apps for Asia region like Mini Diaries and write and go. And also the I couldn't find the latest Diopen IME and I like the Samsung Theme and the bootanime...
Which I couldn't do anything about it as I'm with Darky ROM.

And that's why I ask ppl favor to extract bootanime and the way to extract diopen IME and till now, nobody knows how to do it.

I have the same thinking as you. I don't bother ppl saying apps launcher or proper OS (as good as to be heard)
Google never does its job properly in writing the code for its Android System (that could be the reason they stop selling Nexus as they really don't know how to handle it). I have read in the web before. Some developers complaining that they lauched the Android system (froyo) with a lots of bugs.
They leave the fixing part to the developer or the manufacturer software engineers to fix the problems, in which I think Samsung Engineers are a bit slow poke!
Yes, I must admit that Google has a lot of fresh ideas with they OS. But what's the point if the ideas are full of bugs and laggy. I don't know about others, but I will definitely feel upset.
No point boosting about Android is an OS by itself and can do this can do that...blah blah blah, and in the end of the day, it give me headache with lag issue.
The success of iphone 4 is not just merely they are able to make the phone the TREND as I don't see SGS lose out in the sleeky and trendy design/ outlook of their phone. In fact, there are more. Even iphone 4 is an apps launcher, but the silky smooth of the apps running(even with very low available memory) as well as the quality of them (apps) is just astonishing!
For android supporters, please don't get too upset with my post here. I just wanna share my thought here only. I'm still holding an SGS, ok?
As an Android user, I really hope Google would have done better. If they happen to make their own phone and start selling again. I definitely won't buy. The company is a bit unreliable for mobile phone business. Let them do their software part well.

The reason why iPhone4 is smooth is because of its closed system, have you seen an heavily modified jailbroken iphone? It does lag and hangs as well.

But i do admit there's bug in android's release, but so does iOS. Nothing is flawless in this world

ah.. too bad.. but the casing feels good in hand. very slim. mine is the white one. looks like iphone in glimpse..    Only downside (beside the scratch one) its easy to get oily and very hard to remove it too! But looks cool..
