good at least you have download mode to flash a firmware by odin method. Your phone isn't bricked

stock rom. Like JM8. If you flash with eclair stock rom, you'll automatically get 2e recovery.

Happy CNY to all SGS user, I have been using DOC Tom for 2 days. So far, it is stable and battery life better compare with Darky rom. The only shortcoming is the internet browser only limited to 4 pages. Anyone have any idea to resolve it.

2.2.1 browser = 4 tabs with hardware acceleration
2.2 browser = 8 tabs without hardware acceleration

I think you may get 2.2 browser from sgs tools.

yesterday i go to Queens Bay Penang, go to IT shop where it sell PC hardware, Notebook, and other accessories..

i bought TV Out cable at there for only RM20.00.. brand CLiPtec..
work fine with my SGS, video, gallery, games, all work fine.. all display correctly on my TV.. sound also good..

no need to borrow my brother Nokia cable anymore..

its easy to backup.. and easy to restore back.. by using some apps.. lot of apps been create by a great developer..

to backup apps/games (including the data).. u can use apps name Titanium Backup..
to backup contacts, just sync with google..
to backup sms/mms.. don't really know but got apps can do that..
some people prefer apps name My Backup.. i never use it before.. maybe you can try dload it and see what function have inside it..

android user no need to worry about backup/restore thingy..

If you upgrade by kies, your apps will not be affected. If you want to make backups prior to kies, you:
1. need to root
2. backup /efs folder
3. Install titanium backup and make the backups
4. (optional) backup sms with sms backup+ for example.
