It is the most complete release I ever seen for a movie:

  • Disc 1 - BD version of the movie (45th Anniversary Edition)
  • Disc 2 - BD version of additional special features
  • Disc 3 - DVD version of the movie (45th Anniversary Edition)
  • Disc 4 - CD version of the movie original soundtrack (45th Anniversary Edition)

Ha! Ha!

-----------------

Just tested my last two recent receive BD.

Contact - the PQ is ok but the judder issue is bad. (Hmmm.... I think BD is means for 50GB, all pBD or even original BD record in 25GB can seen such issue). I notice in original BD also for "Planet Earth". This is the only two titles I get in 25GB. Next time not getting any 25GB original BD already.

Close Encounters - perfectly transfer, great PQ & SQ.

** I still got "The Never Ending Story", "The Fountain" & "Poltergeist" in 25GB version... hmmm..........

hehehe , my latest was Despicable Me . I have yet to watch the BD yet but i watched the movie in the cinema . Really nice movie . I planned to watch it over the weekend . Next week will get some new titles .

Andrew,

25GB and judder are not related.

Planet Earth was shot at 25fps as it was supposed to be broadcast in the UK (BBC). However, the converted to 24fps. Thats why there is subtle judder on some panning shots.

The newer re-released Planet Earth is now at 50Hz that eliminates the judder.

Can u tell me what the time stamp is on Contact that u see judder?

If there was indeed some issue during filming, judder can happen

yeah... 25fps for TV thats why I got juddering for AMOS Rise HD BD when its on panning. AMOS is HDTV morning show in US. I thought the BD is faulty. A bit of relief sweat.gif

bob,
US tv shows are normally 30fps or 24fps and not 25fps. If u see judder it might be a setting on ur display. What display do u hv? If u r refreshing at 100Hz then u will see judder? Most displays handle 30fps correctly unless there are some motion interpolation seleced.

I bought on 2 separate occasion for a buyer and a friend. The 1st one during BF and it was sold at B&N for 49.99 , after 15% discount , $42.49(shipped).
Then 2nd purchase after a month where it was 79.99 after 30% discount i got it for 55.99 (shipped) from B&N.

Not on all occasions you can get good deal from B&N . Anyway it was a reasonable price.

Ouch.. it seems the 2 items above is not recommend after I check in the Bluray.com forums as for HTTYD, there is a missing feature & for TSOM, the PQ transfer is not as good as US edition. sweat.gif Anyway just ordered my HTTYD from Amazon US, a good way to keep the niece & nephews on the sofa during CNY. doh.gif

After AD's detail comparison.. ordered TSOM also... thumbup.gif

Great Scot! A music box! If only the price is lower... *sigh*

I mean I saw the box is numbered such as "limited edition no. XXXXX / 250,000", is the cert numbered like that as well?

jenn,

The specs are identical for US and UK so I am not sure why the PQ can be different as its the same encode.
