Urgh. Anyway, let me know what you guys need specifically, I'll see what I can do for you all. smile.gif

I see, I played overnight of Yiruma yesterday. Very addicted with the bass and clarity biggrin.gif

BTW, does anyone experience pitch leaking from HD668b?
*
Pitch leaking? hmm.gif

As for burn-in, I left it a couple of hours on my C30. After that I just use it. Can't wait lor. Love the bass, mids, vocal, treble, clarity and sound stage. tongue.gif

Who is planning to bring it in so far? I know iamyuanwu is planning to do that with the local distros, which cost RM110 and 2~3 months wait right?
I really hope I'll good news for you all soon.  smile.gif

Thanks a lot for your effort. smile.gif

Other than iamyuanwu, trio said that he found a supplier, but they're in the process of creating it IINM..

w00t a new review on headfonia biggrin.gif I just came across this review today but I have already interested in hd440 before this because it seems like it is the most suitable headphones for music listening as all the models I currently sell are for monitoring/studio use hence they are very bright and not the best performer in the mids and lower end which alot of *people* criticizes superlux headphones for without knowing wat purpose it was designed for in the first place.
*
The described sound sig sounds like something that I'll like. How much is this new poison? biggrin.gif

Hey guyz, after I read few pages of this thread and some review, now I am really interested in Superlux products.

The things is I do not know which one is suitable for me? I am listening to a very wide range genre of music, from pop, rock, progressive rock, hip hop, melancholic type of song to sometimes, heavy metal.

Can anyone recommend me one for me? From review, looks like the HD440 is suitable to me since the review said it is good all various genre of music ... pls advise..

last but not least, where can I get/try this sweeeett headphone?
*
I can at least confirm that 668B is available at Jaben for testing/auditioning. Not sure about other models.

For buying, other than trio and one or two other LYNers, I know no others.

As for the recommendation, I guess the only thing I can say is that if you don't like bright headphones, don't get 681/668B. Other models, your guess is as good as mine, cuz I've only read reviews on them. Never tried them.

trio said it's like 668B level 2. biggrin.gif No in-depth yet..

From a couple of posts that I read, the main difference is better bass and less airiness. More here.

While I don't think it's useless, for substantial improvements, it's as what the 2 gentlemen said. smile.gif

Hm.. My own sock and tissue mod + ssyycc's cable:

@agnaem

Yes e5 do make a little improvement to the headphone but what I mean is...instead of wasting your RM90 on e5, its better for you to save up some more and get a better amp like hippo box or linearossa line W1 or any amp sub RM300 in the market.

Any superlux headphones are really need proper amping to make it sing well.

my two cents.
*
I agree. smile.gif Hm... Get Fiio E11! tongue.gif

they say the mids are empty cause the models of superlux with a "b" at the ends are "rich bass" models, which means the EQ in the phones will be a bit like \___

*
AFAIK it's not rich bass, it's deep bass, or some would say B is for balanced. The 381 series best describes this where the 381 have rich bass, and its freq response is similar to what you suggested, whereas 381B have a nearly flat low freq.

@Invalid
I'm with MrJinggles on the 668B, though lacking in bass for me is more towards lacking in amount, where even a cheap Fiio E3 amp could fix. biggrin.gif

does it really help the 668b alot or just a little?
*
Dunno really. Most of us here were just going to get one try them for ourselves. Should really help the comfortableness of the 668B, I think.

Btw, HD669 seems like the better choice if you're willing to spend an extra ~RM30 or so. So far all that tested the 669 says that it's better than 668B..

@MrJinggles
Love your new superlux sigs. smile.gif Perhaps you can make one for future 669 users as well. brows.gif

Dangg. That is quite expensive.
I'll just wait for Superlux's portable amp to come. But dunno when.  laugh.gif  doh.gif
Affordable perhaps  sweat.gif
*
For a good amp, it's cheap. Why don't you go around and look for real expensive amp. tongue.gif

As for the Superlux amp, read here. Trio said if he's able to bring that in, it should be around RM300++, but that was back then; 30th Jan to be precise.

P/S: E11 is cheaper. brows.gif

@zack_jr
It measures 43×94×140 mm and runs on 2 AA and still not portable? If you actually meant pocketable then I'd agree with you but it's definitely portable. laugh.gif

Regarding the holes, I would say most probably yes. It's a semi-open cans after all. Maybe you can try put it on someone else head and see if the leaked sound disturbs you. tongue.gif

Personally 668B bass is good, just sometimes an extra bass is needed. I'd suggest to test 668B and E5 at Jaben, but then again, I wouldn't audit anything unless if I'm sure I'll buy something from them. tongue.gif
Malu ar test2 pstu balik tgn kosong. Lol.

As for whether to go for 681B or 668B, IIRC, after reading through this thread I pretty much gets that 668B beats any 681 series.

AFAIK they don't. But they do have a 668B around for auditioning purpose. At least they did when I went there last time..

Hi ssyycc, what is the deadly clamp? care to elaborate on this as I am super noob in headphones...
*
668B is somewhat infamous for its deadly clamp, i.e. when you wear it, it feels too tight; even causing headache etc to some..

Ops that clamp sounds very irritating. Is there any manual DIY to reduce this?
*
1) As what ssyycc suggested, just put it on something that's roughly the size of your head. The clamp should reduce over time.
2) Another suggestion is to stretch the headband by pulling the two earpieces apart, just like when you pull them apart before wearing it, only stretch it a little further. As the first method, the clamp will loosen by time.
3) Final option that I know is iamyuanwu's method. Of all options, this seems to really loosen up the clamp, but I don't where exactly did he put the grease.. hmm.gif

Personally, I just use my 668B normally and sometime stretch the headband a little. I've used them for about a month now and the death clamp is no longer a problem to me.

All are circumaural. Actually I been using all 3 for all the purposes you stated above XD 669 have quite strong bass too but its sensitive to the setup. 681 is more laidback compared to 681.
*
I suppose you mean 681 is more laid back than 668B?

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

@jblaze: I've only listened to 668B, so I can't comment on others. I'm using 668B mainly for music and sometimes game. It's great but sometimes I feel the need for an amp; for bass boost.

@jblaze
Happy to help. icon_rolleyes.gif Btw, I think trio is talking about 669's different sound sig when plugged into different source.

There's this test done by hitman66, comparing the sound of 669 when plugged to an on-board sound card vs ooAoo SQ210a+.
