Yes, especially when you have good amp. If you decides to go serious.
Then you may love Superlux with the capability for it's price.
Unless you don't like it's sound signature, then different story.

Because not all Headphones improves greatly with amping.
and Superlux does have reasonably good gain from proper amping.

After reading reviews for the new models. I don't know what to feel about expensive headphones anymore. I think SuperLux just rewrote the price/performance matrix. XD

got my new shure srh440, and will compare both srh and hd681, paired with hippo box+ amp, a review will come after i tested all music genres

just wondering, any place to audition the superlux?

i think nobody except Trio (and maybe couple people) only carries Superlux, but if you are( somehow crazily coincident) in Kota Kinabalu, EastCon at Karamunsing has one or 2 HD681 left, and can audition there

Added on April 21, 2011, 4:38 pmnow the HD681 is kinda advantageous in it's treble and pitch in music playback, but loses out on the mid and bass, makes it in a form of "__/\" EQ style, game wise is nice to have the ak sound realistic then of shure440, movie is nice with pitches and vocals but shallow in bass related effects like "kaboom" sounds

so: gaming i will use HD681, audio SRH440, movie will depend what movie it is, mostly will fit SRH440
