For MBB2 AMEX, the card will reward 5x TP for each RM 1 swiped regardless of which merchant category as long as it accepts AMEX.

For AMEX Gold CC, only merchant category under groceries, petrol and books get 5x MR. Other catergory will still get 2x.

For AMEX Platinum holders, you'll get 10x MR if you swipe at Platinum Partners.

Do understand the card that you're holding first before asking more narrower questions.

called CS the other day, CS say can transfer Membership points from Amex Gold to Maybank2 Amex, even the outstanding balance can be transfered.
Amex is using MR (Membership rewards point) while MBB Visa/MC is using Treatpoints.

All Amex is using MR. Can only transfer between Amex cards. Irregardless of MBB2 Amex card or AMEX card.

As i know, MBB2 Amex is using TP, ask before CS, MR and TP is different, cannot transfer

All AMEX issued by AMEX is using MR. AMEX issued by MAYBANK is using TP. So not all AMEX are using MR. The MBB2Cards AMEX is TP point system, not MR because it's issued by Maybank.

And, you cannot transfer MR to TP. I have asked this question more than 3 times to a MBB customer service - reason due to points system.

Previously I was requesting MBB to transfer all my TPs earned from my Maybankard Amex to my Visa Platinum. But at the end, they transferred all TPs to my Amex Gold credit card, so all become MRs.

I m planning to terminate my Amex Gold credit card soon, don't know this time they will transfer to my Amex Gold charge card or Amex Plat credit card.

Honestly, i preferred TP more than MR.

Last few month i got the MBB2 cards, that time messy for MBB, they converted my TP to MR.
I prefer MR than TP

Personally I prefer MR than TP because with MR, one can redeem for cash.

The reason why I like TP is my total TPs more than 1,000,000.

then can get back RM5000

I have wasted 30k TP just for GST redemption on:

1. Ikhwan AMEX which cancelled for a usage of less than 3 month in 2011.
2. MBB Visa Petronas which is planned to be cancelled in July or August 2011 for a usage of less than 6 month in 2011.
