Anyone received 15% cashback for Jan2011?

I did not even receive the 15% cash back for December that I deserve to get. I only received part of it. Amex has not replied me in relation to the dispute.

5% Weekend Rebate is in your M2U... check it out.

It is confirmed that the cash back is based on transaction date, not posting date. My doubt is cleared.

May not be so for my case. I got the full RM50 rebate too for last month and if it is based on transaction date, then there is no way that i am getting the full RM50 rebate.
Would you mind to post your transaction details including posting and transaction dates here?

I made some transactions on weekends which have different transaction and posting dates. The posting dates were 1 to 3 days after the transaction dates. Even though the transactions were posted on weekdays, I was given the 15% cash back for the transactions made during weekends.

I think we can conclude that online purchases made during weekend are entitled for the 5% weekend rebate too.
So Miles, I see nothing wrong in your statement. And it is confirmed, cash back is given based on transaction dates and not posting dates.

The culprit who posted that online don't get 5% on weekend was me. But I did state that it was commented by someone at my blog where she mentioned that CS informed her and I gave a link to that comment.

So we can now confirm that all type of transactions on weekends get 5% right?

Online transaction is one type of retail transactions.

I guess you were confused by "erry" in the Credit Card Thread who kept highlighting that only physical swipe would be considered as retail transaction. sweat.gif

my transaction on 22/1 entitled to cash back but very little, not 15%. anybody also got the cash back on 22/1 onward?

I have not received the cash back for January yet. Not even the full cash back for December! It's now pending Amex's reply on the dispute.

QUOTE(zenquix @ Mar 6 2011, 03:43 PM)
Posted on the other thread but repeated here to stress the difference the 2.5% admin charge makes

Oversea transactions on the same day

MBB2 Amex  05-Mar-2011 03-Mar-2011 US$60.00  RM186.59  3.10983

MBB Visa  05-Mar-2011 03-Mar-2011 US$117.53  RM360.33  3.06586
*
Your Amex's rate is 1.43% higher than MBB Visa's rate. Assuming that your MBB Visa charged 0.5% admin fee on forex conversion, your Amex's rate should be 2% higher than your MBB Visa's rate. Therefore, MBB Visa could charge more than 0.5% on forex conversion, or Amex charged less than 2.5% on forex conversion.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Mar 6 2011, 06:12 PM)
answered previously: NO... you need to go to Maxis KLCC to pay your Maxis bill on Saturdays & Sundays using AMEX
*
You don't really need to go to Maxis KLCC only to pay your Maxis bills. If you want to pay the bills using Amex, you can go to any Maxis centres if they accept Amex.

and i spend every month! beginning of the month sommore... cheaters...

As for the cash back for December which I did not receive in full, I called and wrote emails to Amex numerous times but no action was taken by Amex. So I wrote to BNM, and BNM instructed Amex to reply me in 2 weeks time. I am now awaiting Amex's reply.

You should do the same. BNM's email is: bnmtelelink@bnm.gov.my

The problem with Amex customer service staff is, they always give empty promises. They promised me they would call me back but they never did that. My emails to them are also lost in space. In the end, I wrote to BNM. I don't mind if BNM penalises MBB/Amex.

Why didnt you write to maybank? I wrote to maybank and they replied the following day. But needed to provide info like ic number, last 4 digit of cc number, transaction details. Is it safe to disclose the ic number and last 4 digit of cc number?
*
Please read my post again. I did say that I wrote to Amex via emails numerous times. In fact I wrote emails to them 3 times and called them 5 times on the same issue. They did reply one of my emails with the general answer, "we will investigate and pass it to the relevant department". After that they just kept silence. Weeks and weeks have gone and they did not get back to me with the investigation results.

I don't find it wrong if you give your details for them to make further investigation. My letters to them have always stated my full name, IC number and complete card number. If you lodge a complaint to BNM, they also need all these details.

As of today, I have not received the 15% cash back for January yet.

As for the dispute on the 15% cash back for December, Amex has replied via email that the cash back that Amex owes me will be credited into my account before the next statement date.

good to hear that winner will be getting his rebate...

I will definitely cancel my Amex Gold cc once I receive the 15% cash back for February.

The previous 10x points promotion also gave me a lot of problems. I had to chase Amex CS officers and kept sending emails to them then only the 10x points were fully credited into my account. It took 6 months for me to fight for my rights and get the 10x points in full.

Finally, I received another RM33 for the 15% cash back for December. And this time around, Amex sent me an official letter with apologies and explanations. If it was not ordered by BNM, I do not think Amex would entertain my complaint.

By the way, I am still awaiting the 15% cash back for January.

What was the explanation?

think i will need to complain to BNM for my Jan cash back.

I have a nagging feeling the stealth approval of my MBB2 is the one it
*
The reason they gave was that the particular transaction (RM220) made on 1-12-10 was not recognised in their 15% cash back system, even though it was done in one of the participating shopping malls.

As for the 15% cash back for January, we have to wait a bit longer as many of us here have not received the cash back too. I will wait till the next statement date and then only lodge a complain to BNM.

May I know how long it took since your first email to BNM until they credited?

I wrote to BNM on 25-2-11. BNM subsequently sent a letter to MBB on 28-2-11 instrcuting MBB to reply in 2 weeks. The letter that I received from MBB yesterday was dated 14-3-11.

M2 AMEX is ranked higher

I have finally received the 15% cash back for both January and February for my Amex Gold cc on 06-04-11. Cash back for January was credited to my Amex Gold cc account while the February cash back was deposited into my Maybankard 2 Amex.

It's time to cancel my Amex Gold cc.

My experience with the current Amex managenet is that, they would only expedite the process if you keep writing (complaints) to them. As a last resort, make a complaint to BNM if you do not receive the January cash back in your April statement.

Today I have finally cancelled my Amex Gold cc. This card is deemed USELESS after I obtained Maybankard 2 Amex Platinum. I did this after I have made sure that I received the 15% cash back for February, converted all MR points to cash rebates and transferred all negative outstanding balance to existing Maybankard 2 Amex Platinum.

Bye bye, Amex Gold cc!

I have done that. It took about 5 working days for Maybank to transfer the negative balance. It's confirmed.
