I have been thinking if one has spent e.g. RM10K in one goal on his AMEX, can he request the customer service to convert this RM10K as an installment? Has anyone tried it?
You can do BT.American Express® Cards v3, Treatpoints & Membership Rewards™

Amex did not even reveal any information on my balance MR points in the latest statement of my Amex Gold cc datetd 12-02-11. I am clueless on how many points I have now.

QUOTE(CP88 @ Feb 17 2011, 11:13 AM) Hi All, Yes, 5x TPs EVERYDAY + 5% cash back EVERY WEEKEND (subject to maximum RM50 cash back per month). Is the 5x TP given plus 5% cashback given on all purchases? Eg. A purchase on an item cost RM100. So does that mean 5% cashback plus 500 TP? QUOTE(CP88 @ Feb 17 2011, 01:18 PM) If I would like to apply for this card, showing an existing Cr Card & IC should be sufficient to apply for it rite? Yes, it is sufficient. But generally, your existing card must be more than 12 months. |

Finally, I have received the balance of 10x MR points owed by Amex for the 10x MR promotion run from April to July 2010. It took 6 months for Amex to deposit the points in full.

QUOTE(choonkeong @ Feb 17 2011, 11:02 PM) Sometimes, posting date is a few days after the transaction date, depending on when the merchants submit the transaction details. I did come across a posting date which was a month later than the actual transaction date. |

QUOTE(choonkeong @ Feb 18 2011, 07:08 AM) AMEX posted very fast, can see the next day (transaction and posted date the same day) compared to VISA/Mastercard at least 2 days only can see. You are wrong. As what I mentioned, it depends on merchants. Also, the 1-month gap for posting and transaction dates that I experienced was actually from my Amex Gold cc. |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Feb 19 2011, 08:45 AM) Used my Maybankard 2 AMEX at 5 different places yesterday and all have already been posted to my M2U. Only Carrefour Mid-Valley is using the Maybank EFT POS terminal whilst the rest are using Citibank's, CIMB's, UOB's etc You should use your Maybankard 2 Amex today and tomorrow, instead of yesterday, to fully enjoy the 5% cash back.Anyway, my spending from Maybankard 2 Amex has already hit the cash back cap of RM50 this month. I will still continue using it because of the 5x TPs, which can easily beat other cards. |

I have just discovered that one of my transactions with Maybankard 2 Amex last week have different transaction and posting dates. The posting date is 2 days after the transaction date. This is the tricky part of the 5% cash back, as we have no idea on whether the 5% cash back on weekend is based on transaction date or posting date.

I very angry ask her to double check & call me back. It's been more than a week since I lodged a complaint to Amex about the discrepancy of the 15% cash back for December 2010. I have yet to receive any reply Amex.QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 20 2011, 01:59 AM) I shall wait until end of the month and check whether my petrol transaction at ESSO last Sunday (with posting date on Tuesday) will be given 5% cash back or not. |

Their customer service is not consistent, but it is still much better than most of the local banks. Also, Amex is more generous with promotions. Most of us have been benefited from the fast-growing points and cash back.

QUOTE(Phelddagriff @ Feb 20 2011, 06:59 PM) The CS is the same as MBB cards. I called the Amex CS about the Platinum Credit Card then shortly after called MBB CS about their card, and the same person picked up the phone both times (maybe 2 mins between calls). He recognised me but he still wanted to re-verify me! From my experience, I reckon Amex and MBB have different teams of customer service staff. So when you say the CS is better than most local banks, MBB CS must have improved also! |

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Feb 20 2011, 10:06 PM) you can generally tell that the telephone customer service personnel over at AmEx have better command of the language. I TOTALLY AGREE with you. The language proficiency tells the difference. It is different from the "pelat" type as we experience with most MBB CS staff. |

Maybankard 2 cards will be flooded in the market. It is one of the easiest owned cc products. MBB seems good at fighting with CIMB which also easily approves cards.

QUOTE(lowyatben @ Feb 25 2011, 05:25 PM) I checked with Amex and apparently the RM1 million payout for Dec was hit on the 16th and Jan on the 19th. Does anyone know when the RM1 million payout for the months of Dec and Jan were made on M2U? IIRC, Jan was on 24th. What about Dec? Card members are being victimised due to Amex's late announcements on its own website. For me, I made my purchases using Amex with the knowledge that the RM1 million payout had not been reached for a particular month because the website said so. I am filing an official complaint to them and I am contemplating on whether or not to highlight this matter to the media and other channels. QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 25 2011, 05:49 PM) Believe me, they won't! I wrote an email stating the issue and the incorrect calculation in their 15% cash back, but they did not entertain me. For your information, they did not make the announcement on time, but also did not give me cash back for one of my transactions made before 16-12-10 in BSC.Anyway, I have lodged a complaint to BNM 2 days ago. If they did not respond to you, please do so. Give them some pressure. |
