GOSH DARNIT!!! I am supposed to get the full RM150 cash back for spending in December 2010 but I only noticed RM80 deposited into my Amex account. I did a thorough calculation just now and got the answer. My spending from 6-12-10 onwards DID NOT EARN any cash back. That means the total payout of RM1mil for December had finished on 6-12-10 or earlier, but MBB only announced it end-December. What the hell!

This month, I am not going to use my Amex Gold cc in the participating shopping malls again. I am gonna cut it soon after the 15% cash back promotion ends.
*
I did get full RM150 for Dec and that's for charging about MR200+ at StarHill on 5th Dec 2010 and more than RM6K at Pavilion on 7th December 2010.

or use the 200 points to redeem RM1. tongue.gif

anyway, just got my ocbc titanium & monthly spending seldom >1k, so might keep amex gold as secondary since its free for life. only thing is the annual rm50 GST. hmm.gif
*
yah, as zenquix mentioned, Maybankard 2 Cards expecially the American Express is much much better compared to AMEX Gold Credit Card.

click here to read my comparison of Maybankard 2 Cards American Express versus OCBC Titanium.

In the above mentioned post from my blog, someone commented that she called MBB CS and they confirmed that the 5% cash rebate does not apply to online transactions on weekends.

**Edited**
However if you prefer cash rebate over vouchers then the AMEX's American Express Gold CC would be the preferred choice but you be losing out on a lot of other transactions where Amex's Amex Gold CC only gives 2X MR as compared to MBB Dua's 5X TP.

Definitely can. All you need to do is to request for the replacement card over the phone and tell the CS your existing one has broken into two and that you have thrown it to the dustbin  laugh.gif
*
During Amex time before MBB took over the operation, you could just cancel over the phone and keep the card. But for MBB case, I not very sure if you can just cancel the card over the phone. Last time I cancel my MBB Pet Gold and Plat I went to surrender the card at the branch, can't remember why I did so but most probably is because I was told to do so.

I have been thinking if one has spent e.g. RM10K in one goal on his AMEX, can he request the customer service to convert this RM10K as an installment? Has anyone tried it?

i did ard 1.5k on my amex wif a merchant. i called up amex for any installment payment available n they said no. is it possible?

i m using amex ikhwan

As David mentioned No.

Best alternative is as winner said, do BT.

Hi All,
Is the 5x TP given plus 5% cashback given on all purchases?

Eg. A purchase on an item cost RM100. So does that mean 5% cashback plus 500 TP?
*
yes for all purchases, however someone at my blog posted that she checked with CS and as informed that the 5% cash back not applicable for online transactions. Click below link and go to bottom to read comments.

Just a question, for the maybank kard 2 cards amex, is there a pool for the 5% rebate (maximum RM50 per month)?
Is the 5% rebate applicable for petrol, grocery and etc?

I know the 15% promotion period have a pool consist of 1 million per month.
http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/cashBack101210TnC.pdf
*
Nope, no pool like the 15% cash back. The 5% cash back is applicable to all transactions and is a card feature i.e. permanent benefit.

Just want to know I currently using Maybank Visa Petronas Gold and applying Maybankard 2 Amex & Visa... Are the cards limit share? or each has different card limit?

I wanted the Maybankard 2 Mastercard but now its on Visa, can i change later to MAstercard?
*
Yes. However MBB are MBB Islamic CC credit limit are separate, I guess this is because they are separate entities i.e. BNM issue separate license for Islamic Banking.

Does AMEX card 2 accept Express pay with 5X treat points?

MBB Dua AMEX gives you 5X TP no more no less for any transactions.

From my experience, I reckon Amex and MBB have different teams of customer service staff.
*
yes there are different teams, even the Amex Plat and Amex Gold have different teams. But I noticed MBB CS have been improving since I got my first MBB card in 2009. And if not mistaken lauyaumonk mentioned some Amex CS have been assigned to MBB. Lauyaumonk, if you drop by, do enlighten us on this.

QUOTE(donpapachino @ Feb 21 2011, 06:26 AM)
spoke to a maybank2 card sales rep at a booth near the curve yesterday.

mention to him that my amex gold just got charged rm50 gst in feb, if i apply new maybank2 card will it charge another rm50? his answer is a definite yes. but he counter back by asking me to signup 2 autopay & will get 10000TP to offset the gst. hmm.gif

but my autopay had just all transferred to ocbc titanium. laugh.gif
*
no point crying over spilled milk. The fact is MBB Dua Amex much much better than AMEX Gold CC. The earlier you get MBB 2, the earlier you benefit from it. MBB 2 gives you cash back on weekend which can offset the GST and also just spend RM2,000 with MBB 2 and you have enough points to offset GST.

True, but it also depends on what Platinum Amex you holding lah. If you have American Express Platinum Charged Card then you got class i.e. got lots of money to pay for the annual fees biggrin.gif

Hi all,

I swiped my maybank 2 amex cars in singapore last friday and saturday. When i checked online, the transactions were not updated yet. Anyone knows how long does it take for overseas transaction to show and any additional charges?

Thanks!
*
Next time you go overseas, would appreciate if you please swipe both Maybankard 2 Amex and Maybankard 2 Visa so we can see and compare the conversion rate. Thank you in advance.

i have amex gold credit card now. is it worth it to "upgrade" to maybank 2 card?
*
depends, unless you only use the AMEX Gold CC for groceries, petrol and bookshops on weekdays then better you stick with AMEX AMEX and get MR points which can redeem for cash. But I doubt you only spend your money on weekdays and also else where, so go get the MBB Dua. Moreover, AMEX Gold CC don't give you travel insurance when you purchase air ticket.

Using AMEX Ikhwan here, register 15% cash back on Nov 2010. Until now still haven't get any cash back on this. Called the CS, they giving some funny excuses, they said every month only have 3 million cash back given out based on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis (okay, this i can accept), I tell her I have a transaction on 1st Dec 2010, 10am when the shop opens then I straight go buy a jeans at midvalley (quite rush to get 1 at that day), she replied like a recorded radio, same message "Sorry sir, every month we only have 3 mil caps for the 15% cash back which was based on first come first serve basis"

Okay, 3 mil cash back was paid finish to the maybank AMEX holder at 1st day of the month, 10am, a time that every shop baru open....

So sad and tired speaking with her.

Did you received sms confirming your registration?

Did not go through the T&C myself. It was still so new then with many informations weren't available and even spelling errors which is why i did not bother to read it then. Anyway, someone posted here last month (or was it in the credit card thread) that online purchases are not entitled for the weekend's 5% cash back.
*
The culprit who posted that online don't get 5% on weekend was me. But I did state that it was commented by someone at my blog where she mentioned that CS informed her and I gave a link to that comment.

So we can now confirm that all type of transactions on weekends get 5% right?

you guys having Maybankard 2 should swipe both Amex and Visa and then you can compared the conversion rates to see the difference.
