@MGM, you should get the Standard Chartered Business VISA Platinum or Hong Leong Bank VISA Essential. Both of these cards give you 1% cash back (excluding petrol purchases).
+1 MGM, consider it

QUOTE(MGM @ Feb 13 2011, 11:54 PM) 0.75% and 1% not much different. Spending of RM10k gives rebate difference of only rm25, not even enough to cover GST. Better to target those cards that give high rebate like 5%. Balu u Bak Not change immediately mah...Let say your Shell card anniversary month is December. You can try to apply SCb Biz Plat in October. If approved, then proceed to cancel the Shell card. Otherwise, not approved, just stick to Shell card lor Since you also have MBB2 Amex, Shell card seem useless already. This post has been edited by chemistry: Feb 14 2011, 12:06 AM |

QUOTE(Xai-V-iaX @ Feb 14 2011, 12:14 AM) So when the MC comes out in April would we be able to get it replacing either 1 of the VISA or AMEX? As advised by MBB CS, yes you can do that. But I will not do that. If you want MC+Amex, better wait until April only apply. With MBB's efficiency, I don't want to take this risk. |

QUOTE(timetravelller @ Feb 14 2011, 07:25 AM) oic, thanks for reply. if i have 2 credit card need to BT, if 1 is above 1k, another 1 is below 1k, still can proceed? coz i see that 1 of the condition is that the statement balance must be more than 1k. the balance below 1k will disqualify.pls note that the RM1K condition is per card's basis, not per request. |

QUOTE(ben83 @ Feb 16 2011, 10:54 AM) Do anyone know that booking air ticket via travel agent entitle for the cc insurance coverage? Or must we book directly from the airlines only entitle the coverage? Better ask the friendly & helpful Amex CS Officer.By the way, in a big dilemma whether to book with the Maybankard 2 AMEX (5x point + 5% rebate, cap at RM 50) or Maybankard World MC (5x point every RM 2 + insurance coverage of RM 2 million). Some credit card require the cardmember to charge full air fare to the carrier company, or purchase travel package from a 'recognized' travel agent. This you gotta confirm with CS. |

QUOTE(zcatz @ Feb 16 2011, 11:36 AM) this month statement dated 11-Feb-2011 get interest reversal + RM50 cash rebates. Is your latest statement amount totally interest-free? last month statement @ 11-Jan-2011 also get interest reversal. + RM120 cash rebates I thought it was 50% cashback of applicable interest charge, but it seemed I was wrong. |

QUOTE(simplesmile @ Feb 16 2011, 07:46 PM) Need help. I recently applied for the OCBC Titanium. According to the promo, I am entitled to 6 months interest free balance transfer right? You should pay the retail trxn in full ie. RM1874.54 - RM42.15 = RM1832.39, PLUS 5% of 12k ie. RM600.So I transferred RM12,000 balance to this card. On top of that, I swiped RM1,874.54 I got a rebate of RM42.15 The statement says minimum payment RM695.00 What is the minimum I should pay so that I don't get charged any interest? Is it (RM1874.54 + RM600 = RM2,474.54)? The RM600 is 5% of the RM12k balance transfer. So, in total you should pay RM2432.39, in order to avoid being charged interest. Pls note that only the BT amount is interest-free, not the retail trxn. This post has been edited by chemistry: Feb 16 2011, 07:52 PM |

I got two different answers from Maybank CS yesterday and today.
Yesterday said UNSUCCESSFUL. Today said PENDING. What is all this... This post has been edited by chemistry: Feb 17 2011, 09:51 PM |

Previously I mentioned that the 3% (+2% for selected cardmembers) cashback given by OCBC did not tally with my calculation. Yesterday I made up my mind to file a dispute to the bank. The CS promised to investigate and would call back on the next day.
And yes, she did call back today. She said OCBC will credit back the rebate in next statement. Yoohoo! |

QUOTE(sweetpea123 @ Feb 18 2011, 12:40 AM) certain cards on certain days ONLY. eg, I use my Direct Access Master on Sunday to buy RM1000 worth of vouchers from Tesco, I get a rebate of RM50 the follwoing month. DO KEEP IN MIND the maximum cap each month though I bought RM1,000 worth of Milo and find sellers among neighbours |

QUOTE(ruztynail @ Feb 18 2011, 02:39 AM) hmmm wondering... i jus got my ocbc statement.. statement date is 12th of feb. but i received and activated my card on the 26th jan.. isnt it supposed to be a month in between. I think your situation was shared by many OCBC Ti cardmembers where statement was received shortly after receiving the card. You may change the billing date by calling Card Centre.can i change the statement date? tried calling but CS said only tmr shift can help me with it.. You may want to get the new Maybankard2 Amex to maximize the savings from Parkson (especially on weekends) |

QUOTE(mustang @ Feb 18 2011, 08:36 AM) Some questions; 1. No way. We can only use common sense to guess the merchant category, which can subject to error. In other words, good luck.01. Any ways to know which MCC code a particular merchant belongs to instead of knowing it at the end month statement in the bill. 02. I get to know OCBC paymaster facility will give additional cashback if we subscribe certain bill payments but what about direct auto debit from the merchant itself? [eg: I enrolled in Maxis auto debit] 2. Are you sure OCBC PayMaster give 'additional cashback' on top of 5%? How much % is it? I need a black & white statement to believe. |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 18 2011, 04:07 PM) I subscribe to AutoPay via fax to TM, and have been receiving 5% cashback every month. Maybe TM use a different MCC when processing autopay via OCBC PayMaster. On another note, when I purchased iTalk card from TM Rewards website, the merchant name was 'TM NET e-Payment Cyberjaya', and cashback given by OCBC was 1%. |
