Gotta wonder what Torres said to Stearman during this. Immediately when he scored the first goal..Classic!

QUOTE(hfi @ Jan 23 2011, 02:41 PM) There's a lot of positives from that video. The number of passes for me was just icing on the cake. Im impressed that we didnt try to force an open by going for a quick cross or going for corners. Pleased to see we opted to drag them out our their half by making some close quarter passes - enticing them to press us. Its showed patience and control which has been missing in this team for quite some time. Thats the first & most noticeable thing under KD. Lucas was an constant outlet no matter in defence ir attacks. The 1 touch, pass & move & support from each other were evidence last nite. It showed that football is a simple game made difficult Its a good example that you dont need fancy holywood passes to score goals. Lucas, for example here was effective in what he does best. He is constantly an outlet in the central mid, providing defensive and offensive support. Take notice on how men in red shirts constantly moving around creating triangles. Look at the fluidity in both Merelies and Lucas movements. Merelies playing in the more advanced midfield role, always trying to expand the triangles. Lucas remained deeper to provide anchor for the triangles. Just simple game of pass and move football. Video also illustrates why Kuyt is still an important figure in our team. Just look at the amount of ground he covered in this video. He first received the ball on the far right of the pitch but he ended up ghosting at the opposite side of the pitch when he made the run towards the goal. This was the 90th min and you clearly see he was knackered. His desire to keep up with the momentum of the game is why manager after manager persisted in starting him ahead of others. Makes u wonder how the same set of players cant produce the same display under '35 years experience' Woy |

There's a tremendous lift in our camp and we dont know how long it will last, so its imperative we take full advantage of this lift and exploit it the best we can. Making the right signings will not only strengthen our squad but it tells everyone, the players, fans, and oppositions that we mean business. Not involving in the market doesn't mean doing nothing, we got few bright young talents that we can polish which i think is better than signing another star. I think pacheco should be played more This post has been edited by darth6: Jan 23 2011, 04:44 PM |

QUOTE(darth6 @ Jan 23 2011, 04:43 PM) You got a point but with current market,it's kind of hard to make the right signings. There's always one or two players out there that can improve this team. We have made some really good January signings before - Mascherano, Arbeloa, Skrtel and Agger comes to mind. Look at the kind of impact Arshavin had on Arsenal when they their season was on perils few years back. If we have the funds and there are some players available out there then theres little reason not to bolster our squad. Its not signing for signing sake. If this is war, i would call it refueling and refitting. Sometimes adding personnels outside the camp helps breaks away from the rot completely as it inject fresh legs, ideas and confidence into the team. A new player would come in and be totally tainted-free of Hogdson death touch. I don't want us to splash the cash and regret later on. Not involving in the market doesn't mean doing nothing, we got few bright young talents that we can polish which i think is better than signing another star. I think pacheco should be played more Im a big advocate for youth but realistically, they are more of a long term solution. We could just depend on them and thats one way to end this season but adding someone say like Suarez will add certain class and attacking prowess to this team. He will add certain ferocity and enthusiasm in out attack that will complement to what we already have. |

Talking abt Manager, i hope KD will stay for the next and coming seasons.
However Jose Mourinho is making himself available when the Laliga ends. Could it be tat he is eyeing a come back to EPL where he "failed" under Chelsea? He done well in Italy and Spain and now he might giv England another try b4 taking a rest. |

No offense but the king is our manager at the moment and its a bit disrespectful to talk about replacements. Talk about it when the time comes.

KD will be install as the Manager of LFC once the season finished. We would qualify for CL under KD.
He is currently utilising the players bought by Rafa and RH. Next season, we will see his "real power" when he shops for "his players" A good manager ( like KD ) can see the true potential in every player BUT it would be better if he can buy his type of players. Look at wat he done to Poulsen and Johnson lately. I juz cant wait to see wat he can do to Pacheco and Wilson.......... Bring on ManU and the current top 5 including Spurs |

We would qualify for CL under KD. hopefully this time KD stay at Liverpool longer than before. longevity is the secret to stability and success. the fans will be waiting with patience for that day when Liverpool once again the force of both England and Europe (not the world yet since European clubs hardly tahan the heat playing in south america and asia region). He is currently utilising the players bought by Rafa and RH. Bring on ManU and the current top 5 including Spurs It would be nice if KD can win the league next season but i would prefer him to be given like 1-3 years to build his own team, playing with his tactics and style then win the league. of course the target of achievement must be set higher but it would be nice to take it nice and slowly but successful towards the end rather than rush and push but in the end u lose it while in your grasp. |

QUOTE(Ken @ Jan 23 2011, 07:51 PM) contrary to popular belief..Eduardo Macia was already scouting Meireles during Benitez's time..infact if i remember correctly Roy mentioned that he never saw Meireles play before, sticking him constantantly on the right proved it more.. now which manager would sign a player without knowing his best position, let alone watch him play before signing him? Meireles was always meant to be Aquilani's replacement since the glass boy was struggling to get fit |
