It's not that players aren't irreplaceable, the real question is whether or not we have the capacity to replace Torres ?
Truth is we have some serious re-building to do. Losing Torres is just the tip of the iceberg. The team's aerial dominance has long been shattered ever since we lost Hypia. The link between mid and forward have been pretty much severed when we lost Xabi. The backfour has since been exposed ever since we lost Masc. And now losing Torres will completely remove the team's most prolific goal threat.
Basically, the back bone that took Rafa 5 years to assemble is about to be completely broken. Only Reina and Gerrard remains - the latter is struggling and im not even sure the former will still want to be here. We truly have the work cut out for us.
so much doom and gloom mate...seriously you'd stop being pessimistic really..
The rot has already set since 2 seasons ago, it was clear as daylight that the squad needed rebuilding, those 2nd place finishing in the league was mere paper to cover up the massive cracks in the squad. Last season it was thoroughly exposed. Cant blame players for being disillusioned with the current squad that we have. Dare i say that our rebuilding which was supposed to take place 2 years ago will only begin in earnest now with the arrival of NESV. Dare i say that our squad was re-inforced solely because of the fact that our crippling debts and resorted to the extent of selling players to service our debts. So much for the legacy of the cancers aye?
I've said previously that we are no longer under debt no longer servicing any interest payments well at least that that NESV has said and I'd buy into that to be frank. Any sort of player sale i assume will be ploughed back into squad re-inforcement we have Dalglish in charge to see into that. Which I'm sure he will. and if it makes it any better Chelsea too have a big rebuilding project at their hands and they have started with what could be the potential signing of Torres.
NESV didnt buy Liverpool for 300M for the fun of it, which im sure you can attest to and surely they will ensure that we are fairly successful their track records speaks volumes at Red Sox. And they have carried themselves with class and dignity from their short period in charge unlike those overpromising cancers. Im not looking at what it could have been but looking forward. We were linked to Zamora and Carlton Cole 4 months ago and now we are being linked to the likes of Aguero, Llorente , Hazard , Mata. If Torres leaves than the money from his sale can be used certainly to reinvest in our squad. but with the arrival of Suarez I can say that our rebuilding has just begun after it has being put off for 2 seasons. Which shows NESV are being serious of overhauling the club with younger talent rather than going for the like of Zamora and Cole.

I don't know how you see it though. Having one of your best players going against you is the last thing I would like to have. With that kind of lineup in Chelsea, for sure I wouldn't want Torres to join you lots. At least until the end of the season.
I can see him banging goals left, right and centre if he is going there. Not that I'm belittling Pool's midfielders but Chelsea's are far superior. Even superior than ours, United.
Plus, even if Pool had that much of money, I don't think they will have enough time to shop around. Negotiating takes time. If it is simple as ABC, I reckon that Chelsea have bought Luiz, Sanchez and others. Clubs will want to put the BEST price for their players. Milking money out of the buying clubs.
Well, that is a diff topic.

Not that im doubting Torres's quality or Chelsea's midfield. The same can be said of a certain Shevcheko.
Well at least he's proven in PL. Will be difficult to see Torres in a blue top against Liverpool next week if he leaves i must say.
