Added on April 17, 2011, 4:24 pm QUOTE(hidz7 @ Apr 16 2011, 08:36 PM) From what I've read at NBR forum, the Klipsh speakers are nice but the M17x doesn't has built in sub woofer? MMy 17x-r3 dont have sub. Even xps 15 sound is better than m17xKeep me wondering, if 2.1 capable, should have built in sub woofer right? QUOTE(kira-kun @ Apr 17 2011, 03:47 AM) M14X and obviously the M18X can get 1600 MHz ram... I think if you have 2720QM or 2820QM it should be able to support 1600 Mhz ram right?I thought I remember reading somewhere that M17X R3 can't utilize thr 1600 MHZ I remember reading somewhere else it can... Which is which grrrr!!! I hope to up myself with the 1600 lol |

QUOTE(hidz7 @ Apr 17 2011, 06:01 PM) Well that was what I read.I know laptop ram and desktop ram are totally different. I saw this Kingston hyperx 8GB 1600 MHz but that is desktop performance ram. Are those compatible? Shouldn't be right? |

QUOTE(kira-kun @ Apr 17 2011, 11:33 AM) Well that was what I read. Well, I think for i7 2820 or 2720 which have 1600Mhz FSB, Kingston hyperx 1600Mhz ram should be supported because it is still 1600Mhz ram with lower latency. I know laptop ram and desktop ram are totally different. I saw this Kingston hyperx 8GB 1600 MHz but that is desktop performance ram. Are those compatible? Shouldn't be right? I think I've seen few people at NBR using hyperX ram for their m17x. One more thing, the ram MUST be for a laptop(SODIMM). This post has been edited by hidz7: Apr 17 2011, 07:05 PM |

QUOTE(Lil Kiasu @ Apr 17 2011, 07:18 PM) True, true... but for the case of M14x, I was just wondering whether its good to just upgrade to 2x4GB to save the hassle of needing to sell off the 2GB RAM later on Or should I wait until the price drops only upgrade? Choices choices |
