Installing Darky by applying update.zip???

I tot if it is Darky, it is something like darky v8.0.zip that u stored in ur sdcard.

update.zip is for u to get into CWM from the 2e recovery, ie after u flash with CF-root from a stock froyo (3e) to gain 2e.

OIC...so for Darky's Rom we noneed to change the fine name to update??just go to select tht file and install tht's it??

Nope no need flash to stock JPY. Just straight to Darky. In CWM, install from zip file -> choose zip file -> darky_xxxx.zip.
Not install from update.zip.

If you read carefully from Darky's thread, or watch the tutorial video it shouldn't be a problem.

No need. When you flash darkyy, it will automatically give you jpy modem

If u are flashing from Darky wipe version, it is regardless which baseband u coming from.

ok, in CWM:

If a file come with welcome.zip u can do either way:
1) change it name to update.zip, then at the recovery, apply update.zip
2) if u dun want to change the name, u jz choose install from zip

Dutch version of jpy. They also got the first 2.2.1 before the rest of the world. Lucky.

i was wondering what is the different with "backup data" and "backup all" selection in CWM??or is there any other better backup software i can use??

not sure about that. there are 2 backup apps you might want to try

1) Titanium Backup
2) My Backup

both requiring root access

Okie...i will try the Titanium Back up then...seems very popular~~~ and i adi root from CWM just now...

Data : mean all ur apk (apps) and it datas

backup all : mean data plus system files, ie those setting...

I used mybackup pro to backup apk and datas, not system. As i experienced before that when i restore the system as well, the old firmwares system clash with the new firmwares. Since then, whenever i change a new ROM, i will manually set up the system again, ie sound, sms setting, web setting, apn.
