Is she still I into midwife services?

Having problem to find a CL too.. Will due on early Dec. most of the recommended CL already fully booked. Feel kinda hopeless..

I was wondering whether anyone have a CL to recommend to me who doesn't stay over night. I found 1 in Kepong spoken to her CL leader, was told face-to-face its rm1800 doesn't include angpow but after the next day called n tell me the CL requested for RM2500 work from 7am-7pm. Reason was bco she had to drive to myj house!!! Very disappointed.

Pls recommend a CL for me as my EDD is on mid November. I want someone responsible & can really take care of my food n BB.

Would like to recommend our CL. She's from Kuching, Sarawak, currently engaged with us. Has worked overseas, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, etc as CL. Also has certificate in handling baby care. So far, her service is ok. Can call her, Aunty Mary: 0109677298 / 0168666579

BAD & UNPROFESSIONAL CONFINEMENT LADY - Fah Jie - DON'T HIRE !

I'm posting this as a warning on confinement lady. I still under confinement and I got one of the most inefficient confinement lady ever.

As I had to give birth prematurely to my baby, my confirmed CL cld not make it until two weeks later as her daughter is getting married this week. So I got a temporary one intro by another confinement lady.

This CL I had, her name is Fah Jie and her contact no. 010-2582177. Please under any circumstances, do not hire her.

On her first day, she put my electric kettle on the stove and of course, it got damaged. She said she was used to stove ones and forgotten about it. (What if she forgotten to test then bath water for baby, my baby could be in danger too)

First day she came at 4pm, already dinner to prepare. I had the same dish of sauce based for that dinner and the next whole day meal (bfast, lunch & dinner). She only cook 3 dishes a day. When asked about the usual 5 meals, she said that during afternoon, she need to take nap as at night tired taking care of baby. But my baby is still in NICU, she don't need to take care yet at all.

The 3 rd day, only I can my tonic for supper. But you know what, she serves it to me during my dinner at 7.30pm, so that she can clean up and get to bed by 9.30pm. She only get up at 7.30am the next day. It has been like this for days. Really got her beauty sleep, whereas we got to be in hospital everyday visiting my baby. We got to sleep at mid nite and up early morning to prepare see baby again.

She never clean up my kitchen until I told her too. Her excuse is that she already I clean but I don't know how she clean coz my kitchen floor look like shit still. Since she is so dirty, I cannot imagine the cleanliness of food that she is preparing for me.

She never do basic household chores, only wash my clothes. Didn't even clean the kitchen utensils properly. She even chipped my bowls which I had more than 8 years of constant using. I donno how she can do it.

Finally, I got the confinement recipe book from my friend and I just tell her what I wanted to eat. But mind you, with recipe book, she is also still a lousy cook.

I'm looking forward to few more days for the actual CL to come, hope this CL will be better for me. Sigh!

Im also looking for CL. EDD is 11 feb 2013 but im guessing im gonna induce birth earlier if doc let.

I stay with my in-laws in Bandar Sg Long Kajang. As my condo have no more space, Im looking for day time CL only. (if not CL no place to sleep) I have my MIL who can do confinement but due to old age/CNY coming Im afraid she gets overwhelmed.

I am now enggaged with a CL that is very very good.

About my CL:
She is an experianced CL and have worked in SG & Malaysia. She is 55 yrs old.
Her confinement cooking is super awesome!
She takes good care of me and baby very well too.
She is very hardworking and support breast feeding.
Everytime I breastfeed my baby she is always there beside me waiting for me to burp my baby constantly.
Thru her actions I can see she loves baby a lot!

Her name is Chan Jie. She is of course way better than the bad one I had above.
Her cooking is quite okay, she can be better if she wants to. She had 4 years experience as confinement lady.
Well, at first she seems very helpful and quick to act whenever we needed her service. But after a week, of course we noticed that she started lacking, not as patience, always pin-pointed the negative things about my baby and the way I take care of my baby. She always say baby like got wind, tummy bulging, face yellow, maybe need to bath in yellow herbs, baby is heaty lah, need to be rub with flour. Baby fussy at night, need to say some prayer lah. Phew! A lot of superstitious stuffs and full of negativity, even when not happening. We got our baby to see the pediatric, all seems normal.
Overall, she is fine but you have to keep up or be patience with her antics.

She does household chores like cleaning the bathroom, sweeping daily & mopping the floors (2 times a week), wash clothes for me, baby and sometimes my hubby.
She cook for me breakfast, lunch, dinner & tonic after dinner. She cooks for my hubby too. Wakes up at 6.30am and sleep at around 10pm.
We took care and sleep with our own baby, she will help occasionally during feeding when daytime or evening. She will bathe baby and give baby wash up in the evening.

Added on October 29, 2012, 11:21 amToday is Chan Jie last 3 days as confinement lady to me. Yesterday, we discovered that the drinking water have some residues in it. It looked like some stains left from the thermos flasks. These containers are used to store red dates n rice tea. When she uses it to store water, the stain from inside peel off n are floating in the water. When she pour it out for use as cold drinking water, the residues follow as well. I queried her about it but she said that she clean very well the thermos flasks before use n don't know where the residues come from.

But you see, I use the drinking water to make formula milk for my baby, how can I not be angry when the water seems not clean n how to use it for baby to drink?

Today, I discovered that the water filter attached to my kitchen tap is dirty with some yellow stains. I told her to check it out n what causes it. She just say I don't know n just clean up the filter, regardless the fact that if it is not clean, how to use the purified water to boil for use as drinking water. Her cleanliness is lacking. I guess as the confinement lady about to leave, they will also lacked in their professionalism as well.

Very unfortunate for us all who get such irresponsible confinement lady.

I'm not recommending this CL, you be the judge before you decided to hire her.

Highly recommend this CL, her name is Auntie Mei Lien, has experience being CL for 20++ years, very experinced, energetic, cooks very good and very hygienic. she can work in anywhere in malaysia(or even singapore), very understanding and mix well with young mama and papa as she practice quite a modern mind set, very well mannered.

You can give her a call if you need a CL, I hired her as my CL during my confinement and very satisfied with her infact. Her number is 016-5604842, she requires deposit of rm300-rm500 to book her anyway, and her name is Auntie Mei Lien. Just say you get the number from internet recommended by Ms Ling will do.

As melaniekmk said, unfortunately we have this Fah Jie after she was kicked out.

Our case also same, the promised CL could not make it and this CL Fah Jie was sent.

What melaniekmk said is so d*mn true, so I stress out 3 important notes to her,

1. Meals
5 meals a day, afternoon time (3pm to 4pm) and night time (10pm to 11pm) at least prepare hot drink like Milo for my wife.

2. Hygiene
Clean the kitchen every day, and clean the table where my wife having her meal in her room. Basic cleaning, sweep and mop at least once every 2 or 3 days. My house only around 1,000 sqft.

3. The way she handles stuff
Be attentive and use the kitchen utensils or electronic devices with care

Problem with this CL so far (from Nov 1),
1. When she came on the first day, house was black out for 3 hours, she used the rice cooker inner pot on the gas stove, and I was like, the pot coating...
2. Dirty, never clean the kitchen until I told her to do so, and her cleaning is really like sh*t.
3. Dirty, I asked her to clean the table where my wife having the meal in her room, she used the kitchen towel to clean. If want to use the towel from kitchen, please make sure it is cleaned properly before using, cause she just left the oil stain on the table!
4. Dirty, she showers my baby with only one towel, even use that towel to clean his mouth and tongue!
5. Dirty, after so called she mopped the kitchen floor, next day still got ant groups, and she said she did not see it, the ant groups...
6. The Milo was poured out a bit to the floor, until I saw it, and asked her to clean, she cleaned one spot, and ignore others, saying she could not see
7. The Massimo bread crumbs was every where on the dining table after she had her breakfast. Ask her to wipe the dining table, the bread crumbs went to chair and floor...
8. She pushed us for earlier dinner, so she could clean up and go to bed before 10pm.
9. Never miss afternoon nap...we are still okay, but at night she snores like pig. My wife was supposed to stay with her in the same room, easy for bf, but my wife simply could not sleep not because of the baby cry, but her pig sound.
10. Keep insist on formula (so that she could have peaceful night and saying bf cannot feed enough my baby)...come on, only the first week, the mummy and baby were trying hard la, stop saying negative if not encouraging...
11. She always gives a lot of excuses, like when I said please shut the windows when using the hood, instead of follow instruction, she said, not supposed to give air in so kitchen not that hot meh
12. We also scared she chipped our bowls...the way she handles, very careless, and bing bing bang bang noise.

just out of curiosity, how much you guys earn a month to be able to afford a CL that charges 3.5-3.8k for 28 days. with Ang pau its almost RM4k...
My mom is a CL and she charges that much a month (higher than my salary ) She always say when i married and got my baby, she give 50% discount la.
I always tell her no nid. why people are so willing to spend so much money just to get a old lady to cook for them and take care of the baby??

I believe you guys should be able to get help from your parents and in-laws right? since they also gave birth and raised you up nicely.
