i have ordered it to be paired with my D700 for portraiture smile.gif
choose not to go for nikkor 85mm 1.4G coz the price is much higher tongue.gif

I still didn't get it.
how do you know the photo you will be taken should be warm or cold? hmm.gif hmm.gif

it depends on the lighting ... on a bright sunny day i just keep it at 5000k ...

if with yellow lighting indoor i just go lower ...

go to your software picture and play with temperature colour. The higher you go the color will get warmer the lower you go the picture will be colder

I shoot RAW. Then decide later in PP. Sometimes, during actual shooting, you become indecisive on what is the final outcome that you actually want. Both color temperature can be good.
It all boils down to the creative process and it's a matter of one's personal preference.

I only know 85mm f/1.4G is a nice lens, but the Sigma I heard is about RM2.6k for grey set if not mistaken? If it performs as well as the Sigma 50mm, should be ok I guess.

i got a quote for RM2800 for grey set....malaysia set is RM 3600 or so....duno why so expensive....so i opted for the grey set

read reviews dat it's quite good, except got batch issues
n d downside Sigma dun have weather seal

did u read d WB section on ur manual? there shud got teach beginners d basics of WB
btw, Preset is to set for current location n time only, when u change place n another time, u nid to reset again, so its better to use manual WB actually
