btw guys, updated my friend's WF to CM 6.1 already. everything is good, except for the default camera and gallery. any suggestions to replace 'em?

oh and btw, tried to install the gingerbread theme for CM 6.1, but got into bootloop. sigh. the theme looks great though.

CM 6.1 still have camera issue. That's why I shifted to DK Froyo. Well, overall, CM6.1 is good. Can use setcpu to over clock for better performance, while under clock when screen off which can prolong batt life. Just not perfect yet with camera portion.
While DK Froyo that I'm using now, can't over clock due to kernel issue, which cause wifi not working.

Nothing is perfect just yet.

Ive been using wf for such a long time

Good idea - I'll write a little about that.

Overclock - you'll need a custom kernel. You have to flash it into your phone.

ROMs - you have to go to their site. Eg. CyanogenMod, http://www.cyanogenmod.com/ and download the latest release for your Wildfire. Once you're done, reboot into recovery to flash Cyanogen's ROM into your phone. NOTE: it will wipe EVERYTHING off your phone so you MUST do a Nandroid backup or something similar, or don't blame me if you lose all your contacts, love letters etc.

Strange. The dealer told me he already rooted my phone. And I think it does act like one. Anyway, i recieve the froyo update and did it without un rooting my phone. It seems fine so far. What happens if I don't un root it? So after getting froyo, is the apps in applanet still free?

if u have update that official froyo then u will not able to overclock, flash new rom to yours phone.

You can try risking all your contacts, or backup. Simple as that. I've lost almost half to unsynced contacts but I had a backup .csv so luckily I got everything backed up in Outlook. Your call.
