Licenses

Learn and master a wide range of driving skills, from driving basics to advanced racing techniques for expert drivers.

Practice

Doing free runs on the track is a good way to practice driving techniques, learning difficult tracks, and testing and tweaking your car's performance characteristics.



Open Lobby

Anyone can join an open lobby, a custom race lounge to hang out, face new challengers, and make new friends. Since anyone can join, you never know who you'll meet. If you find someone you get along with and register each other on your Friend list, you can meet up in the private My Lounge racing lobby as well.



Photo Travel

Take your favorite car to beautiful locations around the world and take pictures with a virtual SLR camera with true-to-life camera settings. You can even walk around the environment to explore the surroundings and find the perfect vantage point from which to take pictures of your cars.



Photo Mode

After an intense race, relive the action with the race replay. Pause the replay to capture the most exciting moments and most dynamic shots of your cars.

- Personally, i recommend Logitech FFB wheels. There are -

** Logitech Momo, confirmed working with PS2/PS3. Entry level FFB wheel by Logitech. Only offers 200 degrees rotation.
** Logitech Driving Force Pro, confirmed working with PS2/PS3. The official GT4 Prologue wheel. Offers 900 degrees rotation.
** Logitech Driving Force GT, confirmed working with PS2/PS3. The official wheel for GT5. Same function as Driving Force Pro, but this wheel has a red dial for on the fly adjustments

Here's a simple guide to online MP.

**Hosting**

Everyone can host. I'm guessing Sony's server is doing the load, so what type of connection (1MB, 512KB) do not matters.
IMPORTANT - your connection must be at least NAT2

To create a lounge (session) just click on the community page and then the coffee cup icon.

There's two type of lounge - Open (everyone can join) or Custom (only friends on your list can join).

To tell your friends that you are hosting game - simply send them a message thru XMB or just post them here.

**Joining an open lobby or a custom lobby**

Its simple. Just go to community page or the open lobby button next to A-spec button. You'll be presented with a list of lobby. Just click on it, and you'll join the lobby.

**Tips***

- There's no Invitation mode to invite friends
- Use your headsets, it is easier to communicate.
- To test drive on the track, click "Drive" (second option) . When everyone is ready, the host can click "Go to Race" (First option)

WOW! There are five races in Bonus Race No. 1! The Cr. Prize Total for the Bonus Race No. 1 is between 200,000 and 1,000,000! Exp is between 15,000 and 100,000!

For those who hunting for FGT, you can now go directly to "Online Collector's Dealership" and buy it

For the Time Trial, there are ONLINE RANKINGS! Same for Drift Trial

Update Notice (1.05)

A new update has been released for Gran Turismo 5.
The main contents of the update are as follows:

Seasonal Events
[Seasonal Events] have been added to the upper left side of the [GT Mode] - [GT Life] screen. From here you can participate in official online events from the Polyphony Digital team. In these events, all participants under the same regulations, and if you complete the event you will win rewards and experience. In Time Trials and Drift Trials, compete on the leader boards with players around the world.

Online Dealership
An [Online Dealership] has been added to the left center of the screen. In here you will find popular and rare used cars. You might just come across that one car you've always been looking for, that you haven't been able to find in the used car dealership.

Online Race Rewards and Experience
When you complete a race in the open lobby or my lounge, you will now gain rewards and experience points. Therefore if you are focused more on playing online, you'll still be able to gain rewards and levels that you need to progress in GT Life.

Driving Distance and Number of wins in Online Races
The driving distance and number of wins you achieve when you complete a race in Open lobby or My lounge will now affect your stats in Profile and the Garage. Here again the results from your online play will cumulate within GT Life

Improved Rewards
The rewards for winning races in Both A-Spec and B-Spec in GT mode- GT Life have been increased for a limited time only. This applies until the end of January 2011. This is a great chance for those who were previously have difficulties getting ahead in the game, due to lack of funds for tuning and purchasing required cars.

Race Information Display
Is now available in the Start-Quick Options. You can also see this in Race Display in Options.

Save Data Backup
You can now copy and restore your save data. For details please refer to the in-game Manual

Personal BGM (menu)
From [options]-[hardware]-[Audio], it is now possible to set the Personal BGM (menu). This can also be accessed from the Music Library within GT Mode.

Car Name Change
The official name of the "Red Bull X1" has been changed to "Red Bull X2010"

Integration within the website
The main features within GT Mode - Community can now be accessed through the "Gran-Turismo.com Official Website.

Important Note
We have made improvements to the Log within GT Mode - Community section,
in order to make its operation more stable. Please note that the information that was here before the update has been reset.

Some contents of the update will not be applied unless you sign into the Playstation Network when you play the game.

I rike the Seasonal Online races especially the way the structure the prize credits. For example :

1st 100 cr
2nd 50 cr
3rd 5 cr.

If I finished second, I'll get 55 cr (2nd + 3rd). If I race again and finished 2nd, I will get nothing. On my third try, I won the race, so I got 100 cr.

Owh, I'm no. 3K something on the leaderboard (Cape Ring) with Golf GTI LOL

Has anyone tried the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 SV?

Apparently its handling is bad ,

Any tips on tuning it to prevent it from drifting automatically? I used racing tires on it , sport , hard / soft , both didnt work

Will adjusting camber settings and suspension heights help ?

Sorry, abit of a newbie here . Help much appreciated

my driving options are all default so the SV tends to understeer more.. damn hard to make it turn.. still my fave car nonetheless

i m jst wondering this.. if i backup my save profile in a thumbdrive. i send my cars like FGT or zonda r to my fren, den i replace back my backup savefile. will i still have my cars?? OR PD smart enuff to somehow avoid this case

there's only 3 events at the moment : Race, TT and drift. Race is against AI, TT and drift is one player mode.
