thanks a lot. one more thing to ask, how to add more home screen pages? and from the pic that shows in previous thread, how come the display theme is totally different from original now? one of the home screen u can make it to display many of your contact pic and u can direct make phone call from that page. so sorry to ask so many question as i am a newbies for this X10. tongue.gif
*
search for launcherpro in market... free...
paid ones have more options to tweaked ...
my suggestion, worth buying...rm10 only
(u'll need to root ur phone first and download market enabler to see paid apps in market)
full guide on first page

Is it a good move from wildfire to X10?
*
if you compare hardware spec, definitely worth it la...
other than that, entirely up to you to decide

i was contemplating between wildfire and X10 last time.. and end up here...
simply becos i trust SE brand and X10 looks better to my eye.... black on chrome !! hell yeah

have u tried reflashing the firmware again?
*
no i didnt try to reflash the firmware. what actually reflash can do to solve this problem? im sorry for asking .. im new in this thinggy
*
maybe the previous update of your phone got problem....
try do a fresh upgrade by SEUS again...
most of the people updating their x10 from 1.6 to 2.1 claims that the phone become faster and better.... not like the problem u described...

good for potential customer, but a bit sad for those who already own it..
but price drop on a phone is normal la ...
if want to wait for it to become cheaper, by then , the phone become too outdated already...

probably the development of a custom 2.2 from xda was on halt b4 cos they were waiting for the final words from SE..
but since SE has officially announce x10 eol recently, i bet those guys from xda will start to develop the custom 2.2 again...(i hope)

got 1 question...for xrecovery backup, does it include evrything on our phone?
lets say i've installed lots of apps on my phone already, confirm stable and all, the do a xrecovery backup...
if i restore from that backup, will it restore evrything?
or do i need to do a separate backup like Titanium??

i bought it AP (2ndhand) around rm900.. sum more got conned by TS saying his x10 (white) was ori.. then i pay deposit already.. to close deal.

frust giler.. n now out side shop selling cheaper x10 with standard accessories. siut tul.

Added on January 12, 2011, 10:33 am

yeah.. silly move by SE. even HTC Wildfire moved to Froyo.. that wildfire hardware wise s lower than our x10.. still can upgrade to froyo.
i dont get it why x10 not eligible to upgrade. 2.2 is crucial for all android users (any phones). app2sd, tethering and flash is important! n sumore got speed improvement.

frust frust!..
*
X10 is more than capable... but SE wants concentrate on the new Arc., thats just about it.....
lets just hope xda developers is picking up where they left on the custom 2.2 for x10....

Is there any wifi tethering for x10? Any try? I need it for other gadget.  My hero is using Ametshare. Very stable. My x10 mini using annother appa but not workable last time. Anyone here try?

Added on January 12, 2011, 12:20 pm
Yup. Some more 1G processor. G2 5xx processor also upgradable to froyo in europe, dunno why sony want to abandon x10. Htc have more model and it is just a small taiwan company. Sony which is few time bigger but cant manage his small little android market.
*
maybe smaller company wants to capture more market by giving top notch support and software update to their customer...
SE is quite big n having a strong brand name..thus the brand itself can help to sell a product...

not all buyers are tech savvy like most of us...
subconciously, a normal buyer would simply buy a phone simply becos of of its brand...and of course, looks...

ever wonder why some people would buy the most expensive phones when they knew the phone has quite a lot of limitation like file sharing, no homescreen customisation, poor antenna design etc? cos buying a phone is more than just comparing the specs.. other stuff plays an important roles too...

And I would refer those individual as "NOT SMART CONSUMER". It's already 21st century and i believe a lot of ppl get quite high education, so ppl nowadays should be smarter than ppl in the past.

So just spend some time to google about the phone and u'll know the good and the bad.
*
i wouldnt say NOT SMART, but LESS AWARE or simply settle for an average stuffs... those high end specs on a phone is just a bonus to them, but not what they actually need or use daily....all smartphones can make calls, sms, web browsing, FB, camera etc, rite?? this are the must have function one would look for... but to go the extra miles like Flash suppoted browser, 12M camera, higher CPU speed, dual core etc is something only the tech savvy person would look at, which are the minority...

life is more than just hi tech gadgets and stuffs, bro... not evryone are tech savvy... and this "not evryone" is the majority of the market, whether you like it or not...

so if you have a business, would you target the minority?

mikee,
thanks for d info bout xrecovery..

it's hanged for my x10 mini before.

any other better choice?

any one encounter x10 lost the touch censor while charging?
*
hang? after how long of tethering?? or you couldnt launch it at all?
ur x10 mini runnin 2.1? rooted?

i did face some issues when i did the installation, but it was somethig to do with permissions...
a few tweaked here and there, and my x10 was tethering ok....

i think only barnacle is available...

im charging my fon now, and touch screen seems to work like normal...
