QUOTE(matyrze @ Dec 22 2010, 12:35 PM)
For instance, Messi's ankle was twisted completely under bad challenge from Ujfalusi earlier this season, or the recently nasty hack from Sergio Ramos right on Messi's leg.  LL fans can also remember how Filipe's ankle was snapped under Iraizoz's body (iinm). You know, this kinda incident may happen anywhere, not exclusively in PL.

I could go on saying that Barca may do better jobs than Arsenal and Chelsea against BPL lesser teams, moving the ball around the pitch even before PL tough tacklers manage to get their tackles in. I'm quite sure many of you guys are already aware how capable Barca is when moving the ball around right?

Well, I think Barca fans are not offended, its just that when someone make a point against our club, Barca fans have the right to make a point that support our club. And this kinda point just show that how desperate PL fans are to belittle Barca ability, by hanging over a speculation, that may never be proved because Barca shall never play a full season in PL.
*
Andy Gray's opinion probably a bit harsh, but he do have a point. When you said that Barca players can move the ball much more efficient against EPL's lesser team, I highly doubt that.

Why the hell we need to break each others leg?

PL fans desperate? Looks like one finger point at other and four other fingers pointing back at you.

Do you mean for this?

That's nothing compared to this.

It might be non intentional but that's more dangerous than the one on Messi.

Or this one.

and maybe this one?

No offense tho, you could always see that kind of challenge on Messi, week in and out in PL.

This is a compilation of proof that was taken on Ronaldo. By no means, this is a Messi - Ronaldo comparison at all. This is the best video compilation that I could get on Youtube. And it's all on Ronaldo alone when he was here. You could always look for any other videos on youtube.

and Ujfalusi was almost given (was he?) a 10 match suspension for that, and end up the challenge wasn't that bad (was it?)
*
Why do you say things that you're unsure of? Ultimately he was give 2 match suspension.

Now this is where opinions collide isn't it? For me, yes Barca can do it with ease, and I'm not saying without evidence, mind you. Barca have shown this week in week out, its just that you guys still couldn't swallow it.

Sorry, I can't provide such video to show broken leg in LL, since it is the last thing I would search on youtube. I tend to shiver easily tongue.gif But you could post Ramos challenge on Messi for me. And how much you'd bet that such crazy challenges are only reserved for Messi in LL?

But I believe, that Barca players is more than capable to move the ball, and play around Stoke/Blackburn defenders with ease. This is my opinion. Sure you have yours, and I ought to respect that. However, you have to watch more of LL. Sure sometimes LL matches are quite boring, but just for you take note that both leagues play the same sport. Its not like LL play touch rugby, while EPL play 15-a-side rugby. If you wanna pinpoint match, you can always watch Malaga against LL big teams.

Barca while undoubtedly the best team currently will not have a much easier time in the EPL. This is the most physical league, i think a lot of their players will get injuries and they'll lose rhythm. Though they'll still have a chance to end out on top they wouldnt be able to have their way against teams all the time. I see smaller teams being rough, aggressive and putting the bus in front of goal.

That said, January will be a crucial month because December has so many missed games. Whomever ends up on top would probably lead the race.

ayak why suddenly all the talk about breaking legs??some one new broke theirs ka??

anyway not all the tackles in pl is intended to break some one leg.mostly is an accident then intent.there will always be a debate on punishment etc coz it a grey are that can be cleared or made in to black or white.

You are right there. But since Andy Gray just issued that heavily biased remarks, and some people posted here saying that he may have a point, I felt that I might come in here and make a point of my own (its not like suddenly I came here and bragging Barca completed 400 passes per game), because its ridiculous to make such speculation. There may never be a way to prove that. So why the likes of Andy Gray felt the need to bring that theory up? Like you said, its like comparing apple and orange. That's why I said its ridiculous, biased, and kinda desperate.

my personal opinion is, English league's club are more or less as strong as each other, apart from the usual leaders who is a bit better than the rest. Spanish League on the other hand, i feel theres still a big gap between top and bottom teams. Barca and Real madrid are by far the two top teams and even before the season starts, the contest is open to those 2 only. the table speak for itself: La Liga's leader is 15 points above the 5th spot (Europa Cup position), while in English the lead is only 7. leader of English League is 12 points above 10th spot (half of table), in La Liga it's 22 points.

But that doesnt mean the bottom club of English is better than Spain, or Barcelona and Real madrid pwned English league because they pwned other spanish teams. cant superimpose them since they are different, 1 is speed and strength, the other is possesion football. Dont Forget english teams used to be like that too, top 4 is well above the rest, and only recently the gap is reduced.

That said, i still like watching English league because the commentator suits me. The English commentator knows what they are doing. other league, main problem is language barrier and even if there is english commentator, that guy is alone or doesnt understand the spanish league well. Im not a fan of "GOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL GOLGOLGOLOGOLGOLGOL" either. Not saying it is wrong, u like it but i dont. Personal preferences. IF Barca were to play in English League, i dont think they will trash the whole league as they did in Spain. But i also dont think they will struggle in the league, definitely wont be like what Gray is saying. they would be challenging for the title but there will be more struggle, like how the top English teams are struggling now. Barca aint stupid, if their tiki taka cant break down english defence u think they wont change their gameplan? they have enough quality to do so.

at the end of the day, no point arguing. when in the same league, my club > your club. when different league, my league > your league. If someone a guy who supports Boca Juniors come in and say his club is good, all of us will say European > South America. If somehow somewhere an alien from Mars comes here, we will ALL say Earth > Mars.

yup.. but the least comparison can be made definately is from CL matches. from there i think most people would some kind agree that EPL is tougher than LALIGA
then as u mentioned the gap clearly from current league standing itself.

and hell yeah MSL > EPL tongue.gif

It's all about the $$ they get from TV deals. Apart from Real and Barca who get big sum of $$, the rest are feeding on left overs having to share between themselves. I hope we never see individual tv rights in EPL ever.

overshadowed? who is to say who is better? MU fans on one camp, Liverpool fans on one camp. will never be decided. Bob Paisley is both a great player and manager for them though. ironically, Busby played for City and Liverpool before managing United laugh.gif

Besides, different era. football is different back then and now. cant compare directly. Our own fans also try to compare SAF and Sir Matt Busby. but can anyone say who is better? Nope. different personnel, different achievements, different era, different group of players etc etc. But one thing's for sure, these menagers are legendary, especially to their own club's supporters.

Lol. At least we can see how great Fergie is. I am not saying things about Bob Paisley, but the guy who said Fergie will be forever overshadowed probably is not even borned yet when Paisley ruled England. Kinda funny.

Can I say Bob Paisley/Bill Shankley will be forever overshadowed by Sir Matt Busby? whistling.gif
