Go to hardware store or electronics shop. Buy a big can of non conductive electronics grade Contact Cleaner spray. Spray everything liberally. I mean really, really spray it like there's no 2moro. Spray until u see the contact cleaner streaming off ur flash components like pipe water. Spray every single component especially the pcb board. Then leave everything to dry nicely. After that get another can of Contact Cleaner that comes with protective oil. Spray everything again n it will leave a nice protective layer to protect against corrosion later on. U need to do this or else the components will corrode n good bye.

Most electronic stuff can survive drops into water if u remove the batts immediately. It's how u treat it after wards that determines how long it can live after that.

At least get the contact cleaner with oil. make sure u don't spray the cleaner on the flash bulb n reflector though.

wired shutter remote and a IR remote what are the differences?
which one is better?
is it true that the IR remote can only do single or 2s timer shot whereas the wired shutter remote can do bulb?

wired = wired, ir = wireless... for for my a380, no remote port, so only can use IR. yes, only shutter and 2 sec. sucks. wired can do bulb, shutter and half press auto focus

IR = Infra, which Must need Line of sight, if block by tree, it will not connect the circuit mean no fire.
wireless = (have to check, some china simply print) usually is Radio Wave, so it do not need line of sight.

evilhumour, the transmitter and receiver usually are radiowave type.

or easy, just get Phottix CLEON II.... rm115. it can work as wired or wireless

hi alphaians...wanna ask who got the Sony Alpha lowepro inverse 200 alike sling/waist bag?? wanna know if quality is comparable to lowepro itself? interms of the cushioning...i mean asthetic abit ugly is ok la but can the buckles and zippers tahan or not, instead of like those ciplak china zip break straight away...
