What the...? Looks like all the main features of WP7 don't work in Malaysia? If Bing maps doesn't work, what navigation system do you guys use?

you can use the map...but not to a 100% of its capability. eg: if you try to search for an address, you most likely to get a wrong address. Moreover, in my case..i'm living in ss1, PJ..but bing map indicate it as Subang Jaya area..which is waaayyyy oofff the area.

Bing map SUX...big time. Will be waiting for any 3rd party apps.. hopefully garmin or papago or malsing will make a offline navigation for WP7.

hehe..my bad but its worse, its not subang jaya but rather sungai buloh area... if you try to browse manually to ss1 area..you,ll see bing map labeled it as taman tunku
(Which is also wrong btw, it should be kampung tunku.
People here, taxi driver and, even the goverment never call this place tmn tunku).. And if you pin the area there, bing map will say.. Eg: jalan ss x/xx, ss1, sungai buloh. And thats sux.. Try it yourself.

Just checked again with bing map..it seems that only certain road in ss1, pj being placed under sungai buloh.. Eg: ss1/25, sungai buloh. Whereas, its just in kg tunku.

Added on March 3, 2011, 7:38 amWell the problem with bing map is worldwide..so no need to feel to sad..hahaha... If you look at www.answers.microsoft.com (sory cant paste the exact address coz using wp7).. You'll find people around the world complaining about bing map as a navigation.

Check out this article.

Appears to be a solution for those who is considering migrating to different platform, eg. iPhone to WP7. Apparently a WP7 version of the software is in the works. Interesting thing about this is that it's FREE!

Here's a new tip which I just found out just now when playing IloMilo
--------

The scenario is this, you're playing Puzzle Quest 2 on your HD7 and then your thumb accidentally swipes pass the Windows button and the game goes away as the Start screen shows up and you lose your game progress, damn those capacitive buttons! What happen was that the absence of traditional multitasking, and the app's developer not being able to handle Windows Phone 7 tombstoning effectively would have caused the app to lose whatever it is you were working on.

This is especially problematic on devices that don't have PHYSICAL buttons cause it's so easy to accidentally press capacitive buttons. What I just found out is that if you quickly press BACK after hitting the Windows or Search buttons there's a chance that you can get back to the app BEFORE the OS kills it. Keyword here is QUICKLY, you have to be fast about it! It might not always work, but if something good to know.

okay, ive got a question for windows phone 7 owners out there. i want to know if when i make a call to another phone that is already in a call, do i get the call waiting notification?

This is very important to me, as presently I use an android (milestone), and the lack of this notification is very frustrating.

The way it works in Symbian, or just regular feature phones is: When i make a call to a number, if that number is currently in a call, depending on whether or not that person has enabled call-waiting function, i would get a busy signal, or a call-waiting notification, and the line would keep ringing as usual.

thanks for any help.

Hmmm I always thought that the in call ringing and stuff is determined by the Telco not the phone
