typical Malaysian mindset lah ... nx month will be WTH u buy Android phone when Fruitphone is ver 5 already which is more or less copying Android ... duhhhhh

well anyway I m using both worlds OS (Android & WP) and I m loving both my phones

same case here .
went to the shop almost a year ago .
the only question they ask me why i want to buy this device .

i said, i've tried iphone, i've tried android and its time to try something new .

Yeah. When I was looking for Mozart last wednesday, only 2 or three shops selling the phone. So yeah, not much choice.

They don't even sell HD7. All pretty much Android-biased.
I don't mind Android really. Would love to cook the firmware with diff. roms
But Wp7 is something new so why not?

i have no no such experience as i went TTDI maxis center on the exact day it launch. got a chance to play with the HD7 mobile car stopped at Tropicana Mall and try out all their features first before i make up my mind.

the HTC car promoter was so not well train on their product until their supervisor from Singapore have to come and explain my doubt. along that 30min saw some ppl come play they wp7 for awhile and none of them looks interested except me.

then went all the way to TTDI Maxis center for the HD7. i was told i am the first customer at the branch going for that phone and they serv me like a king. they even sent a on duty supervisor to me.

Bought my Mozart from HTC Gardens. Wanted to wait for Nokia initially, but that guy told me promotion, RM999 when you trade in any old phone while I was playing with Mozart, immediately I said, here's RM100, reserve for me, tomorrow I'll be back with old phones.

Truth be told though, not many are interested in WP7 and I wonder why.

I gave my Desire to my gf and after playing around with my phone, she's quite interested in WP7 instead.

well, the reason for iPhone fans (the extreme one) is that "any phone other than iPhone sucks and deserved to be banished into HELL!" ~ Just kidding
Other iPhone users just follow the fashion... "wow, iPhone's so cool! my friend has one, my neighbor has one, my bla bla bla has one, so I'm getting ONE!!"

while for Android users, the reason is that it is not as open as Windows Mobile and users are being restricted to do anything on the phone (in terms of tweaking and hacking)... but mostly this is only applicable to PowerUsers who are coming from Windows Mobile OS... others are just merely follow the trend..
whatever the current trend is focusing on then only it is good...

whereas WP7, initial release of the phone is not doing so well in most part such as marketing, distribution, promotion etc... delay in updates... and so forth... hence making ppl who initially interested getting less patience to the OS, and for some reason, after the first batch phones were been released, the whole OS is quiet down only until recently where Mango is around the corner (whilst Android's competition is so tense till almost every month will come out with new devices with greater specs)...

I also experienced the same situation.
It was happened when i eyeing for wp device at Terminal 1, Seremban.
It was so hard to get Wp here. Most of them don't know bout the existing of wp.
Finally, i've found 1 shop which sell the mozart for RM15++.
He asked me " why you want wp? sekarang trend android maaa..."
and i said "i've tried ios, android n now i want to try something new. ios and android sudah common la.".
then, he start to cerita about "android" bla bla bla...
LASTLY, "oklah.. i'm not interested,,,

I just wondering, y the shop refuse to sell the wp device?

Same. The sales people at HTC Gardens know NOTHING about Mozart apart from the specs. They aren't even trained on how to operate the device except for one guy which I presume was the supervisor on duty.

maybe after Mango ... it will change or after Nokia come wz WP7 ... which I think will be a lill bit slow since Nokia will try to sell their Meego first here

Malaysia ppl sure easily been trap by trend, i got one fren using blackbery n she use it lik old phone, she only kno bb cn do fb tats all, n in my college ppl using iphone seems lik the most upper class i think, maybe bb n iphone popular here bcos wen u post somting in facebook it say ". . . Via iphone/blackberry" i guess ahaha

There's just no hype around wp7 after launch. Still the same fons they're selling at launch with no new ones.. Until now.

There's this 'feature incomplete' stuff going about peoples mind. Did they have to wait till Mango to put custom ringtone in? Its a bit pathetic that.

And the fact tat you can't buy apps without workaround doesn't help. They better work tat one out after Mango.

Initially, i was eyeing iphone4 when it was released. Thanks to maxis for selling iphone4 during their midnight launch that put me back into wait-n-see mode. When my friend's friend brought hd7 prototype a week after it was announced, i've decided to ditch iphone4 out of my mind and wait for hd7. Fell in love with metro ui

Ahaha yeah metro tat attract me to wp, even my pc look my phone now;)

revert back to NoDo and it seem like the NoDo update are now very hard to get detected. used the pull cable trick for 7392 and its still work. :-p

i knew it, its only a matter of time some one must work out this sms backup.

I found the folder keeping the smses. Just not sure how to transfer it out from phone and later back to phone. <3

Searching high and low at xda now.

yeah i knew i saw it somewhere saying that developer mango no need to revert back !
that's great news .
on the sms part, not important to me cause i dont keep anything important in my phone .

My seller told me i made a wise choice by purchasing a WP7 phone. LOL

Go to a Maxis center and buy an Omnia 7. It is waaaaayyyyyy better than a Mozart. Only 2 things Mozart has that Omnia 7 doesn't is the better camera and notification LED.
