guys, just want to make sure if the update is provided worldwide same time for all WP7 (regardless of brand) or it will be like Android where it will be carrier or region specific + dependent on the company to decide whether to provide update or not?

Also, what's the best WP7? Thinking of HD7 but its price is quite stable already... and it seems the coming WP7s are still using the same specs like current WP7 right? So, really didn't see a point of having the similar specs phone at higher price...

guys... i have just registered a live ID tied to Singapore... however, when i tried to download some apps... most of the times i only get the message like

"the item is not in the market catalog"

the apps include IM+, HTC Youtube etc...
or perhaps an account tie to USA will be better choice?

think will just set the region to USA
really hate to be told that service is not available in your region bla bla bla...
wanna enjoy full fledge service of WP7!!

I am currently still at 7008 (just done an HTC update this afternoon)... wondering if I should maintain the firmware or should I go ahead and upgrade to NoDo? Cos I read somewhere in XDA mentioning that sideloading will be not working if upgrade to NoDo...

rumours said that the earliest release of Mango will be mid September though... really long time eh~

yet everyday we must suffer reading all the news about how juicy is this Mango...

to all sifus here, I wanna update my Mozart (7008) to NoDo (7392) but kept failing last night...
it kept mentioning that driver is not installed with error 801812C1
then I even remedied the problems (download mode driver) based on the solution page that they provided and yet still failed... hence, my 3 hours were wasted...

any idea how to solve this problem? thanks!!

just to be sure.. is this the ROM that we will be getting on our device upon official release?
Or we will be having ASIA ROM which will be different from this?

hi there... just an extra note to you... I used to hear that Omnia 7 have the possibility of bricking the phone during the update process...
heard that it's a worldwide case la... so you might need to check whether this has been fixed or not...

why don't you just download HTC Youtube or Lazy Tube?

which country did you register yourself in? I guess you must be registered your live or hotmail account in Malaysia eh?

yeah... basically it's the big idea... but the process can be quite tedious if one step wrong though..
in simple way,


1. create a discardable live account that registered with either US or Singapore (i'm using latter, though former will have earliest release of Apps if I'm not mistaken)
2. reset your phone (YES, RESET and that's the only way I've heard so far)
3. Sign in your RESET phone with your newly created USA or SINGAPORE live ID
4. Go to marketplace and download apps!

After trying different kind of browsers in Android and Safari, nothing beats the build in IE on WP7!!!
However, different scenario when it comes to desktop version of IE, almost every single browser beats IE kaw kaw!!

the answers:

1) depends.... my favorite is HD7 but I ended up getting Mozart cos the price is really attracting with ORIGINAL warranty somemore... if budget and time is not your concern, by all means waiting for HTC Titan... will most likely available in October or November. However, considering that it is your wife who will be using it, I would suggest Mozart for its looks and size... not much lady I know likes big phone

2) Current OS is still not available to run multitasking... imagine it is like iPhone 3GS back then where when you close the app, it is closed... but fear not.... Mango update will bring multitasking function back, which should be arrived in just a week or so (hopefully)

3) Nope for me... even if you did feel the sluggish interface, it is due to the app poor coding... however do take note that there are some Mozart users responding that their Mozart's screen is not responsive... I experienced once before... but restarting the phone solved the problem...

4) yes, there are some apps help to input chinese characters.... but very troublesome... then again, heard that upcoming Mango updates will have chinese language pack pre-installed... so this should not be a problem once Mango hits the shore..

but then again, I doubt that 15 is the date... cos there is no mentioning of the actual date for Mango release before...

But then how is the update rollout last time for NoDo? Is it region by region? Or it will be one go release all?

It's the upcoming updates for our windows phone... A major one that will bring in multitasking, give the developers access to more I. Depth configuration so that they can create more apps that were seen in other devices such as vibers, whatsapp etc...

does that mean we will face the same problem and will have to go to HTC store to update? Cos ASIA rom will have chinese language pack included so won't it cause the language file problem as well?
