QUOTE(ben83 @ Dec 16 2010, 09:17 PM)
For Maybank, what is the difference between MR & treatpoints?
MR = Membership Rewards Points
- All American Express credit/charge cards without the Maybankard logo

TP = Treatpoints
- All other Maybank credit cards

QUOTE(ben83 @ Dec 16 2010, 09:17 PM)
Is it interchangeable?
Someone has done this before at the Maybank Treats Fair.

Hi all,

I currently have a PB Gold and I plan to pledge a small amount of FD to increase my credit limit- I suppose that makes it a 'secured' credit card?
Can I apply for another banks card with a 'secured' card?

Thanks!
I am not even sure if you can do this. I mean to increase your existing credit card limit by pledging a FD account to it. Anyway, i don't think you can.

Is it actually possible for the cashier to charge a single receipt/bill with multiple cards? Cos I always paid full with a single card.
Yes. It is possible at some of those major department stores. You can do exactly like what Rebecca Bloomwood did. The scene that she tried to buy the scarf biggrin.gif

hi every one. need help on this. i once own a cc. 3 of them previously.  first is CIMB mastercard. 2nd is MBF and 3rd is Alliance.  now all 3 got cancelled.  the cimb i defaulted but settle before go to court, same with MBF.  The Alliance got suspended and terminated by the bank but i managed to pay off all the debts.  on September i applied for citibank but decline. when ask them why they say they don't know, its not theirs department.  ok, on 15th dec i applied for hongleong (online) yesterday check they put the status decline.  just email to them asking the reason.  do anybody know what is the possible explaination why i'm being decline for it? my annual pay got no problem. and got no more default payment with any bank.
Because you've been blacklisted. You should only try again 1 year later.

QUOTE(yhtan @ Dec 17 2010, 06:16 PM)
any installment plan will not receive any cash reward or point for every bank credit card if i'm not mistaken
HSBC does give rewards points even under 0% installment plan. Not sure about other banks though.

I have instalment plan using DA MC. I earned points from the IPP during the tenure.

Edit: it's not really an installment plan, but an i.Pay Plan. Sorry for mixing up.
HSBC gives the rewards points at one go on the first statement biggrin.gif

I am aware of the HSBC and Standard Chartered promotion. I just want to know what are the banks that offer to give free points to help their existing customers to pay for the credit card tax other than the 3 banks i mentioned earlier.

As mentioned, MBB has started giving out free points to compensate existing customers for the service tax. However at this juncture, only very few customers are selected for this benefit.
Yes. But only one person got it. Just like the one person said that he got Alliance Bank to give him free Timeless points to redeem the credit card tax in the previous version of credit card thread. What i want to know is the banks that generously extend this special treatment not just to the lucky select few but everyone.

QUOTE(lolo18 @ Dec 18 2010, 12:44 PM)
Now they offer a another AMEX gold charge card which will preload 10k MR point inside to offset the GST. The condition its i need to use the card at not less than RM50 then only they will credit the MR point to me.
Fantastic !

got RM30 saman just waiting outside PBB bank this month at SS15 subang jaya, just how desperate is our gov now  sweat.gif  definitely won't be voting for BN now  vmad.gif
QUOTE(David83 @ Dec 18 2010, 10:34 PM)
That's why I rather stick with MBB. I'm not a MBB hardcore supporter.

Unless pay RM 2 for IBG to pay CC from other banks.
And if you have a Basic Savings Account, the charge would only be a mere RM0.50 only for the first 2 transfers done in a month.

QUOTE(yuunasue @ Dec 18 2010, 08:47 PM)
Refer to previous tread..
Doesn't any one automatic receive their advance card after few week? And what is CL you get? Ask for friend. Thanks
I got the wrong info when i first posted about HSBC Advance account a few months back which i had corrected a few days later.

Let me stress again that you must submit your salary slips in order to apply for this HSBC Advance VISA Platinum. The minimum salary required is RM60,000/pa. In order to be eligible for this card, you must maintain an Advance account with HSBC.

QUOTE(persistence85 @ Dec 18 2010, 08:48 PM)
thats mean deposit Rm20,000 then can get a HSBC Visa card?
No. You can't. With RM20,000, you can open an Advance account with HSBC and that's it. You still need to submit your salary slips if you want to apply for the HSBC Advance VISA Platinum.

QUOTE(yuunasue @ Dec 18 2010, 08:51 PM)
Need to maintained 20k in account. I think same as secure card.
No. It is different from secured credit card.

QUOTE(yuunasue @ Dec 18 2010, 08:51 PM)
But if you pledge a 200k you will auto entitle Premier card with CL 50k ( That limit only i get  hmm.gif )
You do not need to pledge RM200k. In fact, you maintain your HSBC Premier account with RM200,000 and you will be given a HSBC Premier MasterCard with a minimum credit line of RM30,000. That's it. No need to pledge any time deposit accounts at all. The HSBC Premier MasterCard is valid as long as you maintain your HSBC Premier status.

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Dec 18 2010, 10:35 PM)
Hi all, my credit card chip starting to have problem now, sometimes I need to get it swiped few times only can go through... can I get free replacement by going to the branch?
You can just give them a call. Tell them your card is faulty and you'd like to get a replacement card. Make sure you remember to ask them to waive the card replacement fee. HSBC for instance, can waive it on the spot. You won't see the card replacement fee charged to your account statement.

Yes. Because of these (see below), it led me to think that you guys were talking about RM50 cash voucher.

esso-Mobil smiles reward points program offer the best return in town!
For example, 3*RM10 vouchers can be redeemed with just 3,600 pts. That means 0.833% cashback. Of course, the most worthy item of all time is RM15 fuel for 1,000 pts, which implies 1.5% cashback.

Many people are not aware of this and keep on supporting BonusLink by pumping Shell fuel which pts is given on "per litre" basis. I think only Parkson loyal shoppers would love BonusLink because Parkson got 10X points promo.

esso-Mobil Smiles Program
Another problem with ESSO/Mobil is that there aren't many ESSO/Mobil stations around. Not to mention many ESSO/Mobil do not operate round the clock sad.gif
