*
yes. depends on location. like today, if go to kfc/tesco/giant, definately DA smile.gif

i didnt even apply mbb visa plat. just bcoz 3 years ago i signed up for palace vacation club, then they make this mbb card for me to pay the membership in 0% installment for 3 years. now finished, dunno what to do sweat.gif

QUOTE(staind @ Dec 19 2010, 05:07 PM)

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 19 2010, 05:21 PM)
SCB gave me free 11,000 points to offset the service tax. I redeemed the service tax payment by using 10,000 points. In the end, I still earned an additional 1,000 points without having to spend extra.
SCB JustOne Titanium is no longer open to new application since end of last year. It was mainly due to the overwhelming response as this card gives 5% cash back on Frdays and 2% cash back on non-Fridays for all retail purchases (including petrol). There is no cash back cap per month, but it is capped per year at RM600. On top of that, every RM10 spent (excluding petrol) is also entitled to 1x choice point.

good 4u. too bad no longer offering sweat.gif

QUOTE(persistence85 @ Dec 19 2010, 05:23 PM)
what is mean by lump sum?
*
lump sum pay all the remaining balance 1 shot.

example:
u purchase thing rm4500 with installment plan for 24 months, so u need to pay rm187.50 monthly for 24months.
if u want to cancel the card on 11 month, u need to pay the remaining 13 months (rm2437.50) for 1 lump sum.
plus rm50 penalty for cancelling the installment (fee depends on bank).

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Dec 19 2010, 07:01 PM)
err... either i cant find it, or u missunderstood?

what i mean is rm50 cashback for the card / rm50 credited back in the card statement, not a voucher with value of rm50 sweat.gif

like hsbc, 12.5k points can get rm50. hsbc rewards - look at C302 / C304

previously i redeem rm300 (75k points). hsbc offer 3x points if swipe oversea.

amex, 10k points can get rm50 back. amex rewards - the example is 100k points for rm500.

amex gold offer 5x points if swipe at selected place such as groceries & petrol.

while DA can pay with points at certain shop - 10k points for rm50 - Pay with Points - min purchase rm25 (5k points).

so, do mbb dont have this kind of rewards? hmm.gif

esso-Mobil smiles reward points program offer the best return in town!
For example, 3*RM10 vouchers can be redeemed with just 3,600 pts. That means 0.833% cashback. Of course, the most worthy item of all time is RM15 fuel for 1,000 pts, which implies 1.5% cashback.

Many people are not aware of this and keep on supporting BonusLink by pumping Shell fuel which pts is given on "per litre" basis. I think only Parkson loyal shoppers would love BonusLink because Parkson got 10X points promo.

esso-Mobil Smiles Program
*
mesra from petronas also point per litre laugh.gif

the best parf of esso/mobil is, certain station at kajang area will give 2x points usually oct-dec rclxm9.gif

esso at grand saga kajang operate 24 hours smile.gif

err.. this OT already. we should discuss about credit card not petrol rewards card brows.gif

Yes. Because of these (see below), it led me to think that you guys were talking about RM50 cash voucher.
*
nvm notworthy.gif

QUOTE(hebe87 @ Dec 19 2010, 09:59 PM)
with on the spot redemption, MBB's TP offers better rate.. ie 9300TP for RM50 parkson voucher
*
the point now is, normal mbb card offer rm1 = 1 points only, except petronas 5x, or while promo only, example petronas 10x on tuesday.

while amex gold always give 5x when swipe at groceries, petrol (all station), participating bookstores , and telco bills.
other transaction will always get 2x points.

so, to get 10k points, maybank need to swipe rm10k normally.
while amex gold need to swipe only rm2k or at least, rm5k smile.gif

Anyway I'll keep my Amex Gold CC as my backup once I maxed out RM50 rebates from OCBC Titanium...

ok u said "one more year to go" before ur card expired.

my "less than a year" means b4 need to pay for the gst.

my card expiry this year, and this year also gst start charging.
so i use the reason dont want to renew bcoz dont want to pay gst.

try to cancel ur card on 2011 to get free gst waiver brows.gif

QUOTE(lin00b @ Dec 20 2010, 09:38 AM)
n00b question, why do some people go for high income cards like plat etc? you have to pay annual fees. sure you get some extra benefits, but how much would you have to spend monthly to recoup the annual fees paid?

mind sharing some example where plat and above card is more worth it than the basic free for life card?
*

plat card is no longer can consider as high? sweat.gif but world mc / visa infinite does thumbup.gif

why go for this card? bcoz:
1. we spend more. so want more CL.
2. we want world / infinite privileges such as free access to klia lounge, free coffee, free movie ticket, free golf.
3. we want special price for selected merchant.
4. lastly, we can get it free for life - either with or without condition smile.gif

DA world mc & visa inifinite is free for life without any condition notworthy.gif
