Each individuals has the own preference of choosing the wise and favorite titles that they insist should own.
IMHO this are the "must have" blu-ray that i can think of. I guess the rest can help in the growth of the list

1. Casino Royale Collector's Edition
2. Ratatouille
3. Black Hawk Down
4. Band Of Brothers
5. 300 Complete Experience
6. The Dark Knight
7. The Prestige
8. Body Of Lies
9. The Departed
10. 3:10 To Yuma
11. Blade Runner (5 Disc Collector's Edition)
12. Cars
13. A Bug's Life
14. Toy Story 1-3
15. Kung Fu Panda
16. Spiderman Trilogy
17. The Mummy Trilogy
18. Pirates Of Caribbean Trilogy
19. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
20. Planet Earth
21. Ultimate Matrix Collection
22. Casablanca
23. The Sound Of Music
24. All Sapphire Series

QUOTE(dariofoo @ Jan 19 2011, 06:31 PM)
Most, if not all, of Criterion's releases are critically-acclaimed movies. Seven Samurai, for instance, is on many 'Top 100 Movies of All Time' lists [and topping thoses lists too!].
Most of the reviews on their releases are also very good. So far I don't think there has been any bad reviews and complaints on the transfer, special features, etc.  hmm.gif
Only downside is that most of their releases are bloody expensive  sweat.gif
Perhaps what you're saying is that Criterion's releases are too artsy-fartsy for the regular joes who get their fix on Scott Pilgrim vs The World...
In that case, you may well be right, brother  biggrin.gif
*
I would definitely recommend quite a number of Criterion , for eg Seven Samurai, The Last Emperor , Seventh Seal , The Naked Kiss, Charade , Modern Times , Videodrome, The Night Of The Hunter, TCCO Benjamin Buttons, THIN RED LINE , The 400 Blows, For All Mankind, Wings Of Desire, Chungking Express , Robinson Crusoe On Mars , The Darjeeling Limited, The Monsoon Wedding..and the list goes on. Yep, you're right , only downside is the price tag. Look out for B&N's yearly Criterion sale. 50-60% off.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Jan 19 2011, 06:24 PM)
For me, I won't recommend any Criterion collection as not all people can accept. I normally also watch once for those criterion movies as it is too deep for most of it.
*
No bro, Criterion collections is must have for its refined picture & audio. Thin Red Line will never sound better than the Criterion edition.

QUOTE(dariofoo @ Jan 19 2011, 06:21 PM)
Nothing from Criterion?  hmm.gif

Already listed my favorites above

An update on one of my 2 m.i.a BF parcels. i've contacted Amazon and requested for a replacement order but they just refund my total amount because the titles are not in stock at the moment... the titles are: Showgirls & The Scorpion King... btw, this parcel was despatched via iParcel; so hopefully it'll turn up eventually! cry.gif

The new release slip looks much glossy. Better cover art.
