QUOTE(faidzal1982 @ Dec 20 2010, 04:42 PM)
guys... is there any horror/thriller/ghost movies dat u guys recommend in Blu-ray?
im not into those brutal/gore murders kind of movies...
more prefer to the type dat can give us the suspense and make our hair behind the neck to stand... biggrin.gif
*
just to be absolute sure - you mean the one that "...make the hair behind the neck to stand... or the neck in front?" laugh.gif

sorry, lame joke... i personally don't mind slight gore like Texas Chainsaw (remake) or Saw or stuff like dat but what i really love about most horror/suspense/slasher flicks are the use of lighting to create a mood of suspense, darkness, spookiness etc.... imagine, low-lit scenes on high definition... dats my version of jaw-dropping / pop out scenes. nod.gif

regarding BF purchases, am still waiting 3 more parcels from Amazon.... who else still not completely receive their parcels? hmm.gif

For suspense and naik bulu roma experience with no brutality or gore yet with an interesting plot and shocking twist in the end, I would strongly recommend:

The Others

Agreed... this is one creepy movie especially the ending. But a bit slow pace-wise & may bore some viewers.

Aargh.. I was looking for this!  icon_rolleyes.gif I dont think its on BD yet rite? This is a good 'scary' movie.. what about 'The Sixth Sense'?
*
Sixth Sense for me is only effective for a single-viewing only. rolleyes.gif

Thanks am just waiting for trilogy box when Hobbit launched, hopefully for a remaster... they could do better I think
*
I think New Line will remaster LOTR but only the EE. The current bluray trilogy master must've been the ones used for the dvds as there is no necessity to spend on remastering a theatrical edition... though I might be wrong biggrin.gif

Tell Amazon the fact that you just watch those movies after 12 months of purchased.  laugh.gif  My case is X-Men Trilogy which I only discovered the disc 1 of X-Men 3 was actually disc 1 of X-Men 2 after months of putting there to collect dust.  I wrote to them and their agreed to sent replacement for whole X-Men trilogy to me.  laugh.gif

i'll try my level best to open each and every one of the blu-rays i bought during this year's Black Friday purchases & to check of course.... tongue.gif ...just awaiting for another 2 parcels to arrive though. btw, 1 of the 2 BF parcel's estimate delivery date was last Dec 20th... will just give them until tonight, then i'm writing to them. funny, one parcel shipped on Dec 10th already arrived last Wednesday... doh.gif

It's true sometimes (maybe most of the times...) UK bds are cheaper, so does its shipping fee and delivery period is shorter... but have made my mind long ago that UK bds are not in my best interest. Just hate any object other than movie/studio elements on the cover design (nipple anyone?), don't quite fancy the thick & hard casings and the flimsy cardboard slipcover.... although generally; content-wise are on-par with the US edition, be it good or bad tongue.gif

But like everyone says, to each their own... biggrin.gif

Added on December 29, 2010, 12:38 amMy only complain was... G.I. Joe came without its slipcover (i understand because there's no more valid digital copy)... but because of dat, there's no credit or specification details of movie usually printed on the backcover of a blu-ray casing... doh.gif So, if anyone planned to discard his/her G.I. Joe blu-ray (US) slipcase, feel free to PM me... tongue.gif
