For me, I won't recommend any Criterion collection as not all people can accept. I normally also watch once for those criterion movies as it is too deep for most of it.

How about this title - In the Realm of the Senses Blu-ray... still won't recommended for your Criterion Collection... brows.gif brows.gif

An update on one of my 2 m.i.a BF parcels. i've contacted Amazon and requested for a replacement order but they just refund my total amount because the titles are not in stock at the moment... the titles are: Showgirls & The Scorpion King... btw, this parcel was despatched via iParcel; so hopefully it'll turn up eventually!  cry.gif

Disappointing news indeed. Was looking forward to this one. The special features would've been good.

The Color Purple is still on track though. One of Spielberg's earlier works. nod.gif

err sorry u mean like this one:
http://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-movies-no...re-release.html

Re-release with the same BD but with combo DVD? rclxub.gif That's marketing

I don't consider that as a remaster. Anyway they didn't say remaster either. I jumped the gun and thought it involves remastering. Just like Sony Essentials are re-release then.

best example try out the fifth element(first release) and then the remastered which is rerelease months after all the complaints from the end users.(like myself)same goes wth xxx which is still waiting for a remastered to happen.

like se7en.what i found out.

first release i had was the canadian version which is released by an indie studio(bareboned release).-aq/pq-so so only.more like an upscaled from dvd.

2nd release,hk version by another indie studio.-better than the canadian but still bareboned.

3rd release which is by the us original studio(new line)which includes all the special feats ported over from the dvd (us)release.the best version of course.

sony essentials?imho spiderman 1 looks and sounded better than the 1st release(the hd trilogy).same goes for spiderman 2.

well the list is countless between european versions, asian and us versions.

yes i do agree some re-releases are purely marketing(with additional toys/steelbook/new features and so on)or should i say (double-dipping,triple-dipping)?

ha ha.....lol.. icon_rolleyes.gif

oic you are mistaken. I was referring to ANIMATION. They are not film based so there is nothing to EE or DNR or reconstruct. This will be the same issue with LOTR trilogy because they use a lot of 2k CGI which has no actual film.

OLDER animation you may be able to improve it with different palates or classic disneys which are actually in film. These I would consider as remastering and eye candy.
