Hi all. My XPS L502X warranty is running out (1 year CompleteCover)-- how can I get an extension? Can I do it online or do I have to call them up? Thanks!
*
I may help you with that, check your PM.

QUOTE(maryjane9996 @ Aug 4 2012, 09:03 AM)
dont extend yet.wait for your comp spoil first, then only extend.

Out-of-warranty system will be much expensive to renew. There are several additional terms added to renew too; no damage, no prior replacement claims etc.

I'm having problem with playing some latest Bluray discs on my XPS 1647, I'm on PowerDVD DX 8.2. Any idea how to have the player able to play all Bluray discs?

Yo guys, I am considering to get a XPS 13z the ultrabook with me. Since its light and pretty durable.

Anyone owns it so far? How's the review? Does the Intel GMA good enough for mediocre gaming?

I've an XPS 15(L501X) which has lost its driver for the touchpad. So even when I disabled it, I could still use it.

May anyone tell what is the appropriate driver for that?

Does Dell Malaysia have any campaign of laptop battery recycling or any offers on that?

Thinking of trading in for a new one since since warranty period is already over.

if overheat, just get external notebook cooling ..

overheat can be caused by human error ... doesn't mean the laptop is faulty or anything..

Overheat can be caused by poor air circulation , blocked heat sink , dusts etc ...

I usually use a laptop stand to have the laptop base away from the table ...

Most laptop are not built for gaming unless it is built for gaming like the Alienware ...

you can just dropped off your battery at any battery recycling boxes ..
however you won't be getting any money back...

If you are already out of warranty, you might as well pay some1 to refurbish your batter for a cheaper price..
buying new battery directly from DELL would cost you a bomb..

however please take note of the risk you are taking , any refurbish battery has a small chance of failure...

My colleague and I used to sent to one of the guy here in lowyat forum to refurbished all our dead battery. I think we did about 4 or 5 of them. I did not have any issue with mine. my laptop died before the battery did .. smile.gif

Hmmm, I find the 15z battery to be able to last at least 4-5 hours with normal wifi usage. Though it does have the overheat issue when gaming.

Do you happen to know what's the 2nd hand value of this laptop? Feel like selling it and getting an alienware =D It's good but it tends to overheat a bit fast for my usage.

I have already placed the order and waiting for delivery at the end of this month, probably.

One thing i am a bit let down is the lack of SD card reader. If it doesn't shipped at the end of this month, might change my to Samsung Ativ PC pro though.

After around 6 months of light use, barely typing anything, the keyboard for my XPS 14z went dead, just like that. sweat.gif

Finally got the chance to experience Dell's on-site support though. biggrin.gif
The engineer said they rarely get keyboard problems for any of the models.
Opening up the XPS14z is such a hassle, so many screws inside.. rclxub.gif

Does anyone know where I can get 32-bit drivers for XPS 14z? I have:

Management Engine Interface Driver
Mobile Intel Series 6 Chipset Driver
Realtek RTS5209 Card Reader Driver
Texas Instruments TUSB 7320 Driver
Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 Driver
Atheros AR8151 Driver
nVidia N12P-GV-S Driver (downloaded from nVidia it won't install)
Intel HD Graphics Driver (got from Windows Update)

What else do I need? List is here for reference. I can't turn off the audio even though the speaker icon on my taskbar shows it is muted. Which driver is for the keyboard function keys? The four directional keys don't work.

What to do with the extra RAM (have 8 GB) other than using it for RAMdisk?
*
Hi, why do you prefer to use the 32-bit Win7 instead of the default 64-bit? Just curious. biggrin.gif

I'm afraid it need to change the whole screen.

Just making sure, when you printscreen and view it on other computer, can see the pink dot?
