For the XPS 15, is it worth paying more for the battery(upgrade to 9 cell) or the wireless card(upgrade to Wireless Network Card 6300?

QUOTE(AwaN87 @ Dec 15 2010, 03:49 PM) wifi network card 6300, bigger bandwidth than normal wifi network card.. i believe what i read, streaming more faster with it.. ++ greater range.. worth it Hmm, when I'm outside, I won't be expecting much to stream videos or play games, because of the number of students utilizing the WiFi in my college. Plus, my sole purpose is to usually check emails and hang around in the forums. Plus, I've made a self-customized parabola for my router to improve signal strength for gaming purposes when I'm at home QUOTE(J.J @ Dec 15 2010, 06:35 PM) The 9 cell will tilt your laptop at a certain angle as it's larger than 6 cell. I'm only planning to get the i5, since the i7 will burn a hole in my wallet If you don't mind that and battery life is a main concern then go ahead. Please take note that having 9 cell on i7 would at most give you additional 60 mins of battery life. As my 6 cell lasted less than 2 hrs, ideally I'd say 6 cell would give you 2 hrs or so. Based on that, we can roughly approximate as such: 6 cell = 2hrs 9 cell = 9/6 * 2 hrs = 3hrs Usually when I'm heading out, I might not be able to find a socket to plug the adapter in, so the battery is kind of a plus This post has been edited by UserU: Dec 15 2010, 06:06 PM |

I wonder, how come the Blu-Ray drive addon is only RM200+? Shouldn't it be more expensive especially for a laptop?

Hey guys, have you ever encountered a horrible experience with the XPS 15 charger? My one is the L501X, and the charger provided was a pain in the ass.
Unlike normal chargers, I've to fiddle around with it until the components connect with one another. Worse, I've to pull the cabling up or else, it won't work. This is totally absurd when I'm outside. I've contacted the Dell support and awaiting their response on the 1-to-1 exchange. ![]() |

I've an XPS 15(L501X) which has lost its driver for the touchpad. So even when I disabled it, I could still use it.
May anyone tell what is the appropriate driver for that? |

Does Dell Malaysia have any campaign of laptop battery recycling or any offers on that?
Thinking of trading in for a new one since since warranty period is already over. |
