how do you "discipline" a rabbit?
mine jumps on the sofa when she smell apple. usually she lie on the floor my dad will give small piece.
but since tues she start jumping up when my dad eat apple. he even change sofa she also follow and jump up. then she climb all over until front paw on his chest. so we didnt give her until shes on the floor.
but after she finish jump again. getting more demanding. carry her down she jump again.
today lock her in the cage but soooo noisy. jumping inside...biting the bars....rattle the door. then when open the door she dun wana come out like "siu hei".

lol. yeah. sounds like my rabbit. but he does the exact same thing for bananas. so now if any member of the family wants to eat fruits, have to eat far away from his smelling range. cause its impossible to not give him some, you know what i mean.  biggrin.gif
*
i know what you mean.
mine always bite stuff and very naughty.
then when i want to scold or pat her bum she act all cute and innocent. put her paw on your lap or lick/smell your feet.

today my dad played round robin with her. he went round the sofa holding the apple and she followed.
then he gave a small piece first and she ate. then she jumped up but there wasnt space so she slide down.
then he gave her another bigger piece. she only ate half then ate her hay.
my dad said shes smart cos she know the apple was sour so she didnt finish... rclxub.gif

LoL, sour apples are the green ones right? happy.gif I usually feed mine an apple on Wednesdays only - something sort of like a weekly treat. Other days all he gets is pellets and hay laugh.gif
*
yup those are green. but my dad ate the red ones. somehow it was sour. the rest was bordering on tasteless to sweet.
her meals daily would be pellets, hay and one bak choy (a leaf at a time or she'll ignore the rest). treats are either apple or carrot.
hard to give her weekly apple treats since we have them almost everyday.

I only feed once a week cause apples are so pricey ><" LoL laugh.gif
*
its for the prayer table (use 8-10 apples). we change about every 15 days. sometimes she use oranges....
only my dad eats the apple. its not those pricey ones. thats why its tasteless/sour. sweat.gif

Hello there =)

My little devil is with me and my family for almost 4 years now . It is named Baby , a female . We actually had a hard time naming her because my mother keep on rejecting names . At the end , I suggested this common name and surprisingly , my mother agreed because she said "She is part of our family now . Both of you (referring to my brother and I) must treat Baby like your little sister and must not bully her" . 'Cause both my younger brother and I were younger back then ~ That's why she said that I guess .
4 years...may there be many more years to come...
hopefully snowy can be with us that long too.

how old is your rabbit?
if its still YOUNG then they need more protein (growth) and hay (digestion/teeth). not sure how much protein babycorn has.
i read some forum said babycorns are ok, but for rabbit in general (didnt say young/old)...

i used ear bud to wipe it off then now its appearing again.

___________

UPDATE: after the 3rd wipe it didnt come back. this morning its looks ok but the fur around it is lk wet/damp compared to the rest of the eye which is dry...

might have got some dust in the eye. chronic tearing problem may be attributed to overgrown teeth. If bunny's teeth are alright and not overgrown, check for eye infection. still in doubt, bring to vet.
*
shes fine now. eyes are dry. not bulging.
maybe because it was the hay dust. she climbed into the hay box. there wasnt much hay except for some leaves and dust.
dont think teeth are overgrown. pics a bit blur...

QUOTE(dantck @ Aug 27 2011, 08:04 PM)
i think is it eye shit only....
*
dont think its eye shit. different than what i usually see. normally hers is dry and strand like.
but yesterday's was a bit different. dont know how to explain. but if you've popped a pimple with whitish yellow pus its something like that. a bit thick liquid.

there wasn't much tearing. the eyes weren't wet. only the fur was a bit damp-ish.
how do you open the mouth? everytime i try she grinds her teeth.
when she yawns i cant see anything except her tongue and the upper wall.

but I really wonder.. won't the rabbit be able to hop over it?  hmm.gif

i was thinking about getting one too. mine had trial runs with the sofa. the next thing i know, she was ON her cage! which is 20".

what you can do is cover the top half with tarpaulin/tarp then the other with mesh. so they can get some sunshine and also shade.
maybe you can put the cage in so when it rains they've got shelter. water would flow around the grass and they might get wet from lying around. not to mention the mud.

my in-door rabbits try to burrow through the marbel floor...LOL smile.gif

same here....she always "digs" the floor then flops down.
she'll do the same to the towel. she digs at it then kicks it away with her hind legs.
or she push it away but i'll keep putting it in front of her and it repeats. >.<
kind of like a game.

and also dig and bite newspaper  rclxub.gif

mine shreds. we keep ours on a rack and she always goes under and pulls them.
but if its piled on the floor she likes to jump and sit on top. then she'll stand up and scan...
sometimes watching her shredding the paper can be very funny. more like a dog. laugh.gif

not very into books. she'll just bite/nibble a few then runs off.

how old is the rabbit?
don't feed too much carrots. how about hay or fresh vegies? on the first page theres a list of what to feed.
not sure about the supplements tho.
maybe you can help to give it a comb too, at least try to clean out the poop. if its serious then i suggest for your uncle to take it to the vet.
cant help with the cage part...

Snowy hopes everyone is enjoying their weekends like her.
She gets to sit in the garden the whole day. Not to mention terrorizing my dad's plants
