I think what he/she meant was that pet animals have lost a lot of their wild instinct and no longer able to survive in the wild. It is quite simple actually. Imagine an animal that no longer needs to find food because being a pet, it is being fed most of the time. Perhaps it will take them longer to adjust to life in the wild. That's if they do not fall prey to feral dogs/cats and anything in between. In short, they will not survive in the wild.

i think even the owner probably cannot last in the wild more than a week by himself without any help dry.gif

dropping off a pet into the jungle is akin to doing this.....

Yesterday at dawn, my father found an adult rabbit on the street and brought it home. I groomed her and found a lot of hard matted fur and some scabs at the back of the ears (which I think was due to injury rather than mange but there's no tell tale flaking). So far there's no GIT issues and she didn't appear to be traumatize.

Location : Kelana Jaya, PJ

If you're the owner, I will need some proof that it was your pet. If nobody claim her, I have space for another rabbit and my family are totally willing to adopt it. Just putting it out here (and on twitter, and my town's fb group and on reddit) in case the owner was in the group.

Yeah, I know thats a mountain of pellets, my dad always buat pekak when I complain about him feeding them. The hay side was at the larger cage.

and FYI to the earlier posts, pet rabbits don't survive well in the wild or outside the safety of your home. There's a lot of feral dogs around my town and she's lucky that my dad found her before she became dog chow. Abandoned rabbits tend to starve to death so if you want to give away your rabbit, find someone who are willing to adopt it.

I went there last year. There's only one booth from Sungei Wang that sells small animal stuff last year with a lot of cheap rabbit accessories. But I think the original shop in Sungei Wang was closed so I'm not certain they might be there this year. There's only a few petstore selling hay and rabbits in the fair while everything was about dogs and cats.
