QUOTE(supyall @ May 13 2014, 06:08 AM) well, the obvious that can be seen is loss of fur on the feet right? apart from that what else can you describe? can you provide more details such as:- what else do you see on the feet? is it just fur loss? or are there any crusts forming on the fur loss area as well? - the condition of the skin at that spot? - the living conditions of the rabbit. where does your rabbit spend most of the time at. how's the cage like. more information would be useful |

QUOTE(zack210 @ May 15 2014, 05:27 PM) Dear All TS, the smallest breed would be Netherland Dwarf.Im just about to start to pet my 1st rabbit, ( due to my gf ), as she is seeking for smth small and cute with white fur. so i had did some survey for rabbit, found that lionhead, and angora are smth like what my gf asking... but as im new to rabbit, im seeking advice from all of the pros here... any type or rabbit suitable for beginer?? cause i really dont want to see a dead rabbit... >.<" im still doing studies on rabbit... please advice. Sincere Zack from my reading (not my experience), the most tame and easy to control is Holland Lop. but i am not sure how true it is. for beginner, Angora might be little bit hard coz their fur is quite troublesome to handle. but they are cute too as for me, i m looking for mixed breed Dwarf Angora (Netherland Dwarf + Angora) but kinda difficult to find right now |

QUOTE(zack210 @ May 15 2014, 05:27 PM) Dear All TS, First thing is, make sure to get your rabbit from a reputable sources. If you visit a pet store, do your research first and make sure to ask the staff questions on the rabbit, to ensure that they know what they're talking about.Im just about to start to pet my 1st rabbit, ( due to my gf ), as she is seeking for smth small and cute with white fur. so i had did some survey for rabbit, found that lionhead, and angora are smth like what my gf asking... but as im new to rabbit, im seeking advice from all of the pros here... any type or rabbit suitable for beginer?? cause i really dont want to see a dead rabbit... >.<" im still doing studies on rabbit... please advice. Sincere Zack the most common dwarf breeds here are the Holland Lop, Dwarf Hotot and Netherland Dwarfs. You can google up the photos of them to compare. like what suadrif mentioned, Holland Lops tends to be the most relaxed of the 3 breeds and is likely the easiest to handle, but this is just in general. at the end of the day it still depends on the individual character of each rabbit too. these 3 r all short haired rabbits, which is probably easier for a beginner to handle. but do take note that when they molt, they can really shed fur like crazy too. Now, for the colour that you're looking at, white is the least common that I've seen of the holland lop (although they do exist). its far easier to find white Netherland Dwarfs, and Dwarf Hotots are always white in colour (although Dwarf Hotots are quite rare recently here) |

My advice is for bro zack210 to get those bunnies direct from reputable breeders (who doesnt breed bunnies for $) as the one from petstores "require" u to send it to vet immediately after getting it.
My first bunny died within a week because i was careless and din send it to the vet to check, by d time i send him there (after noticing d wet poops, diarrhea), it is already too late. Stomach upset is bunny's worst enemy. Bought it from d huge petstore at ikano centre. Current bunny who is healthy n active, that i got from pet's more in tropicana has mange (mites) prob due to poor living condition in d store. She was only there for a week before i got her (at 5 weeks old) and took her 10 weeks to completely recover from mange prob (7 injections at once a week and lotion for her ears). I sent her to vet d moment i brought her home. I think you can try to look for good breeders from http://www.petfinder.my/ Spamming pic of my lil Oatbun ![]() She is now longer than her "house", used to be abt 40% of her "house" length LOL Thinking of getting a new cage for her This post has been edited by hitsugayat10: May 16 2014, 10:55 AM |

QUOTE(cktck887 @ May 20 2014, 01:19 AM) my solution to diarhea is nutridrops , water , banana ,alfalfa and timothy Wah! Ur rabbit n mine looks almost d same with some differences in tail and ears once diarhea must remove the rabbit from its friend , i kena b4 it friend eat the hay and water share limited , it died ......... when rabbit diarhea it may only drink water , so most effective is put low height bowl with water and hay all around , some only take timothy some only take alfalfa , some dont take hay but banana only , the pellet sure it will stop eat , many beginner or many basic typical owner will just feed pellet , basic pet shop will give pellet , so its life only hope that no sickness or pain , or else it will die because during pain or sick it wont eat pellet... i also have a clone of your rabbit Thanks for the info bro M extra careful with my current bunny's health condition, 1 vitamin c tablet and some treats daily |

I'm and my family going to oversea soon. So I'm looking for someone whom kind to look after my rabbit for 10days. Or the last option, a good pet hotel recommendation? |
