hye i got myself a baby bunny 1month 1 week, shud i give her TIMOTHY hay / ALFAFA hay?

cos the seller told me to give TIMOTHY hay?

Your rabbit very adorable, 1month 1week is slightly early to leave mama. Your bunny will do better using alfalfa hay as your main hay, you can use timothy hay as well. You can also use Mountain Grass from America Pet Diner, your bunny will love it. You can also feed a high quality rabbit pellet which will produce good result for your bunny over all health and grow. smile.gif

first of all happy belated bunny year to every rabbit owner here.
Somehow, my two rabbits who at first won't get along and fight, suddenly get a long just fine, grooming each other and hang out together. must be the charm of the bunny year.

You should get 2 months old (8 weeks). But it is alright. Below 6 months give alfalfa and make sure mix with Timothy Hay also.

Above 6 months Timothy Hay or other grass hay.

Bermuda grass is also a type of grass hay. As long as copter eats, everything is fine.

Just make sure he/she touches any other grass hay. get good quality pellets as well. Avoid anything with coloring.

dont put it in a ball yet. the ball is just for fun one. just lay it in a box or cage for easy access.

maybe she is a little too small still. or getting to know the surroundings.

Vegetables for young bunnies is a huge NO NO NO for me. Kang Kung is worst.

Can you please stick with feeding Timothy Hay and rabbit pellets for now? I would suggest that you get a bottle of Rabbit Nutri-Drops feed it 1ml per 3 lbs body weight or add to water accordingly. You should also get American Pet Diner (APD), Critter Be Better Probiotic pellets. That is good for its stomach.

I suspect your little bunny is still too small. Nutri-Drops can be fed to even 1 day old baby rabbits so making it very safe supplement. You must make sure your rabbit gets enough water. Monitor through the water bottle that you are using (provided that it is not leaking). When a rabbit stops eating/peeing/pooing, hydration is the most important thing.

Hikaru,

Best combination is neutered buck and intact doe. Castration is much more straight forward and cost a little lesser than spaying.

Good luck!

I've been seeing 'Woody Toy' and 'Teddy Bear' rabbits for sale - but cant seem to find any information on these 'breeds' - are these distinct new breeds, or just mix of a particular breed? Sorry if this is the wrong section, but dont know any other thread to ask this...
